There is not one specific influential person in my life instead there are several influential people in my life. They say it takes a village to raise a child. Thank you to my parents Josephine and Chester, my maternal grandparents Jennie and Will, as well as my aunts and uncles .
Growing up in the foothills of Virginia was an experience that I am both proud of and saddened by. I am the oldest of five children. My parents both worked so our before and after school care became the primary responsibility of our maternal grandparents
My father Chester retired from the Army and went to work for the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren, Virginia. My mother Josephine provided housekeeping services to several families in the area.

My grandparents lived on a farm so there was always fresh food. My favorite food was fried chicken and potato salad with flour biscuits smothered in melted butter. Grandma made several different kinds of cakes each Sunday. The kids were taught that when grown folks were talking we should find something else to do, usually that would be playing stickball, hide-and-go seek or catching fire flies. Life back then was so simple and people respected each other. Adults could correct you and by the time you got home your parents would know what you did, so you didn’t have a chance to make up a story. Let’s not forget that you needed to be in the house by the time the street lights came on.
Growing up in such a family filled with love taught me how to respect others and how to treat others the way you wanted to be treated. It also helped develop me into a well-rounded man. I have tried to instill the same values in my children. Our family is filled with loads of love and laughter. We sometimes argue, fuss and fight but at the end of the day we were taught that family always have each other back and sometimes even their
An individual who has had a significant impact in my life would be Maribeth Holland. Maribeth Holland has been in inspiration to me for quite a bit of time. I would put her in the category of being my mentor, although her official title to me would be my teacher. Holland has been an inspiration to me throughout my Junior and Senior years of high school at Fountain Central. She has helped me to become a better student.

Family is usually synonymous to harmony and love. However, the words chaos and pain is rare to describes a family. Family is a combination of harmony and chaos, likewise love to pain. The problem is society focus only in the positive accepts. For Instance, in Stephanie Coontz article, What We Really Miss About the 1950s she recalls that what the American society reminisces about this era is that life was simple and one could find an equilibrium between work, family, friends, and school.
I was born in Anderson, Indiana, the first child and only daughter to a northern Pennsylvania-bred father and a southern-Louisiana mother. My family, and specifically the backgrounds of my parents, has had a profound impact on the person I am today. From my father, I inherited a strong work ethic and a determination to accomplish whatever I set out to do. My father was a teacher for many years and he instilled in me the importance of education and life-long learning. As a result, I’m still taking college courses and always looking to learn new things.
The love of a family is life’s greatest blessing. In life, there is a universal desire for oneness among people—we want to belong. It is why we collaborate, support common causes, cheer for sports teams, feel nationalism; it’s why we build villages, towns, and cities. Families are where we connect ourselves in relationships to past, current, and future generations. For many, family is not only a blessing, but our greatest accomplishment.
I have seen my family stick there through it all and not leave you even when times get rough, which is why this diversity makes a great impact and shapes me into the person I am. Families are diverse all over the world, and no two families are the same. I never had a chance to meet my extended family from my mother’s side because her parents passed away before I was born and she was the only child in her household. I grew up only spending parts of the day with my father and the other half with my mother. Other peers in places that I would go to school with thought my family was together because they were more involved in what I liked to do when I was younger.
Although I have one huge family it is split up into two .Its the hood side and then it 's the not so hood side of my mom 's side of the family. When I say hood I mean ready to pop off at any given moment not scared of anyone, and the non hood keeps calming turning the other cheek . On the “hood” side it 's my Auntie her 5 children and their kids ,my granny and her husband ,my uncle .Which really falls on my mother 's side.
Through all the tough and terrible situations a person may be wrapped up in your family is usually the group of people you can go to, and get the best most helpful advice. In my family I have certain people that I can automatically go to and tell them my problems without being judged, and I always get the best advice. People in your family are the people you keep closest to you because they are blood, and they’re not friends that come and go. They are blood and will always be apart of you and want nothing but the best for you. People in a family that give the best advice are the ones who have gone through so many battles in their life because they know what it takes to overcome them.
They have always encouraged me to do my best and strive for the best, they have always supported my positive decisions, and they have always helped me when I’ve been in trouble. My family has been there for me and each other through thick and thin, and I really love them. Their advice, support, and encouragement have incited me to endeavour for the highest possible achievements. My family is my major influence as they have affected my life from the very start of my life in everything I do.
so yeah life hit us quite hard but we still maintain our childhood. In my family no matter what if one of us wanted something we will have to be patient. My cousin and I bond were strong that you would think we were brothers , you would never find us without each other unless during the school year.
