II. ISLAMIC IDEOLOGY
Ideology can mean an ideology or doctrine which has a value of true or perceived correctly as a result of contemplation (reflection) either by revelation and human contemplation results in a pure intellect. Ideology is usually the work of the philosopher or the people who are willing and able to use their minds to think about themselves and their environment or everything there. This is the claim of Islam. Man reached the fundamental religious truth the one God exists and that God is a creative sustaining and loving God, and human morality is a necessary corollary from this fundamental hypothesis which must develop into belief, knowledge, realization and action. All reality is one and is governed by an order which is at once rational and moral and preserver of all real values. The Qur’an gives this as a fundamental postulate. In whomsoever this belief has entered his heart and soul and is not merely a confession the tongue, he has attained to truth and well-being here and hereafter. And this cannot be done, except with useful knowledge, true faith, and sincere worship with admirable character. Islam as an ideology in the social field is very suitable because Islam is a social religion. It aims to form a community of individuals who pious. Even Islam found public piety is something that is common for individual piety and position, such as fertile soil transform and grow and develop
The Islamic Empire was huge, large, and untied. The early Islamic empire expanded by fiercely attacking and conquering other lands, as well as uniting them. To start off, In Document A (which is reliable because it happens to be written by Muslim historian Ahmad al-Biladuri in the 800s) it talks about how they killed 70,000 people. Even girls helped in creating a bloodbath which shows how fierce and strong they were on a battlefield and how they easily took more lands.
The Islam religion, believed by Muslims, has spread across the globe at rapid speeds. Muhammad ibn Abdullah started the religion. The religion began in Mecca. The religion was made known in 610 CE. The two major themes of the religion are “Allah is the one God” and the importance of charity.
In the city of Mecca, a man started a new religion known as Islam. This man was Muhammad who was born in about 570 C.E. While going to pray in a cave in the mountains of Mecca, an angel named Gabriel visited Muhammad. Gabriel proclaimed that Muhammad was a prophet, messenger of God. As he received messages from God, Muhammad began to teach and recite them to others. Over time, Islam attracted new followers through military conquest, trade, and the appeal of message, which contributed to the rapid spread of Islam.
Christianity and Islam were two very different religions, both of these religions had a different belief systems and the way they lived was different due to their beliefs. But they did have some similarities, such as both being monotheistic, believing in prophets and were both found from the Jewish faith. In addition, both of these religions were very dominant and grew a lot throughout each century; have been the world’s greatest religions for hundreds of years. The religions established their own ways toward commerce and trading. Christians had their own negative beliefs as to why merchants weren’t as valuable; Muslims had positive points toward trade because Muhammad, their founder was a wealthy merchant.
The attitudes of Christianity and Islam towards merchants and trade are different from one another in the beginning stages, but as time progress each moderate their earlier views. In the beginning Christians found it unfit to be a rich merchant, while Islam’s judgment on trade was acceptable as long as they were honest and the trading was just. As time went by over a couple hundred years, the followers if each belief changed their views on trade, though it was acceptable, merchants were expected to trade geniuses. In the beginning Christians found it unfit to be a rich merchant, while Islam’s judgment on trade was acceptable as long as they were honest and the trading was just.
Why did the religion of Islam spread so quickly? In the 600’s the religion of Islam started to spread quickly. The religion of Islam spread so quickly because of complex and numerous trade routes, strong military conquests, and strong and convincing religious messages. According to the holy text of the Muslims, in 610 CE a merchant named Muhammad went to a cave outside the city of Mecca to meditate.
The religion of Islam intertwines with laws and religious beliefs, and the Koran, the holy scripture of the Islamic faith, holds the moral values of the Muslims. Muslims live by the Koran. The Koran consists of the Five Pillars of Islam, prohibitions, and morals that all Muslims follow constantly. Allah the one god of the Islamic faith is looked upon by each Muslim. Each Muslim has a personal relationship with god.
The book deals with the history of Islam and provides arguments over the liberal interpretation of the religion. The book puts the blame on the Western imperialism and the self-serving misinterpretations of Islamic law by the past scholars for the controversies which are taking place within Islam. The work by Reza Aslan challenges the clash of civilizations. The book
The religions of Christianity and Islam have very similar beliefs, but they also have a lot of differences, which make each religion distinctive from each other. Also, the Christian and Muslim merchants attitude changed over the thousands of years to match each other or go completely in the opposite way. One of their commons points included their view of fairness.
“The Islamic teachings have left great traditions for equitable and gentle dealings and behavior, and inspire people with nobility and tradition” (H.G. Wells). The society and world around us are greatly influenced by the muslim people, or more specifically, the influence of the Islamic world. Their impact on the world is a controversial topic and their role is also often seen as negative. People are constantly oppressing minorities, but without the Muslims or teachings of Islam, the world wouldn’t be the same. This group of people achieved so many things that are considered necessary to our world today, and not many people recognize that.
Did you know that the Qur’an, the holy book of Islam, values human life so much that one life is considered the equivalent of all the lives in mankind? Islam had many other interesting rules like this in many areas, such as land ownership and self defense. Muhammad ibn Abdallah was one of the first people to hear about this new religion. Archangel Gabriel informed him that Allah was the one god, and after 2 years, Muhammad finally spread his words. At first, many people resisted his teachings, but soon thereafter, Islam began exploding in popularity.
As proven throughout history, an empire’s religion can promote morality and a strengthened society; however, religion can also create conflict that creates a decline in morals in society. In the Mauryan Empire religion helped the society by ensuring that people had respect for each other and that people
Islam is the second biggest religion and fastest growing in the world today. Islam is a religion that Muslims follow and is a monotheistic faith regarded as revealed through Muhammad as the prophet of Allah. For Muslims, Muhammad is the last prophet and Abraham is the patriarch of the Qur’an, Bible and Torah. Islam is followed by over a billion people and Muslims make up approximately one quarter of the world’s population. Islam spread quickly during the 600’s trade, choice, and conquest.
It is interesting to know why we believe in what we believe; there must be something which pulls us towards these certain beliefs. These can be obtained from our own personal life experiences, lessons which we acquire from those around us, and also through cultural materials which transmit information. Hence, this can be part of an ideology, but one cannot restrict its limits upon an individual. Furthermore, ideologies which can be associated with culture and archetypes, are something which keep on evolving with history and can be seen to respond to circumstances which are societal. Gramsci believes that all human beings are able to make sense of their lives and their experience through, what can be referred to, as the ‘common sense of popular culture’.
The book entitled “Islam the Misunderstood Religion” written by Muhammed Qutb is a book talks about how the world, mostly the non Muslim communities, see Islam from their perspectives. This book means to clarify those wrong perspectives. The book can be read both by Muslim and non Muslim. According to my understanding, this book is divided into two main topics; Islam and ideologies, and Islam and applications. Islam and ideologies parts talk about how people correlate Islam with feudalism, capitalism, idealism and communism.
