5. Home for the hair dryer

I really enjoy the convenience of having my hair dryer operational at the opening of a drawer! Blowing the hair being a daily routine, I do not fancy pulling the plug in and out of the power point every day. Some plugs require cow strength to lodge and dislodge!

6. Kitchen sink design

I am sure you have come across hotel or public toilets in which the sinks sit totally flush in a hole out of a flat counter-top piece as shown in the following profile :

The designer of this kind of sinks scores full marks for ease of fabrication, but zero marks for user-friendliness. You don’t want to be leaning on the edge of such a counter top, unless you intend to be a good Samaritan, using you clothes to soak up the puddles of water that have accumulated everywhere on the sink-top, ready to avalanche down on the slightest initiation!

My kitchen sink design incorporates three design features that keep the water away from the user. Firstly, unlike the knob design, the lever-type tap enables washing soap and water to drip back into the sink. The lever design is also smoother and easier to operate.

What if the luxury of space is not available? It just means that some of my suggested solutions are not feasible, not applicable ... BUT, that is no excuse for a lax in attention to details.
