During the day, the heat builds up on your skin as the salty wet sweats drips off. You walk up and down the main strip which is where you see the majority of the odd ducklings out there. However, during the evening is when it gets dark and people go crazy, get excited, and their adrenaline builds up. My brother and I sit at the candy shop bar, right smack dab in the middle of the main strip. We walk down there from our hotel at about 11:30 to see the real people who live for the late night in Vegas times with their friends. It really is something to see and words cannot describe it. I mean literally you will be sitting there and someone will fall down straight on their face or someone will puke right in front of you, making you smell the bitter, ripe, smell of puke; smelling like a year old expired yogurt that a college student has in the back of their fridge in their dorm. In all honesty, this is 100% my favorite place on earth. My family and I always make it to Las Vegas every summer because of how much action there is. It is impressing how much a couple hours could be the best hours of your life by sitting on the street people

On the off chance that Gambling had been banned in the larger part of Nevada the city of Las Vegas would in all likelihood not exist. Since Las Vegas is essentially known for betting, the strip, clubs, etc, it would not have turned into that way and it would not have developed into such a tremendous achievement in the event that it were a piece of Arizona. Subsequently, Las Vegas may have been simply one more city in the state or Arizona, just investigated by general society
The two short stories The Lottery and Harrison Bergeron are similar themes because they both question status quo and the tolerance of counterproductive social practices for the sake of obedience. In “The Lottery” there is a village that is blinded that they have maintained an old practice without even questioning its purpose or its rationale. The practice is there is only one winner of the lottery and that person is stoned to death. In “Harrison Bergeron” they want to be so equal that they make everyone wear handicaps so that no one can be stronger, smarter, or prettier than anyone else. The conditions are both cruel and senseless.
Las Vegas has remained a dominant vacation destination. “people go just as much for shopping, partying, restaurants, and shows as they do for gambling” (Hoium 1). When considering revenue alone, only one third of income that Las Vegas brings in is solely from gambling, where as, in Atlantic City almost sixty percent of their revenue is dependent upon the gambling industry. Atlantic City needs to shift the focus from gambling to family oriented events. If the City can create a family atmosphere with shopping, restaurants, kid-friendly attractions, and nightlife, they will have the whole

In Shirley Jackson’s “The Lottery”, a story about the tradition of a small village, is painted in impeccable details of peace, and serenity on a warm summer day, as everyone follows the tradition they have known since a long time ago despite the true intentions and meaning of it forgotten. The Lottery taking place annually is like no other lottery, it paints the true picture of the horror that epitomizes the tradition that none of the villagers dare to question, despite it creating separation between gender and families and ruining
