Once you have your own foundation with being a leader, I think that as a leader you can transition and understand the behavior of others that may be on your team. When acknowledging others on the team, I think that it is important to identify strengths and weaknesses of others and the team. As you can see, I have outlined what I believe makes a great and effective leader.
To have good character, it requires us to be faced with disasters in order to realize what the meaning of good is (Wallace). “The theist may point out that in a world without suffering there would be no occasion for the production of such virtues as courage, sympathy, and the a like” (Page 122). B.C. Johnson is correct in saying this. I, a theist, believe by helping people cope with disasters and supporting them in their time of need, it brings out the good virtues in us and helps us realize how good it is to help others.

To be a successful leader I also agree that one needs to have certain characteristic and skills. A leader needs to be able to simple lead, as you have stated. They need to direct and guide people to fulfill shared goals. Communication is also another huge skill. A leader needs to be able to clearly communicate, build relationships, motivate others, inspire others, and be a role model to create a positive work environment and culture that will accept change and innovation in the company.
In their opinion, achieving success is a personal thing, so it's okay to work very hard without considering other features. I don't agree with either of these two opinions, however, I believe that to achieve success needs a full preparation including a final goal, confidence, features such as perseverance and hard-working, instead of focusing on opportunity only or people themselves. I strongly believe that these well-preparation pave the way to achieve success, and those people who with good features will achieve success sooner or later. Only if you are well-prepared, can you catch the opportunity to make it successfully.

Being a leader requires skills in the department of teamwork. A person should communicate with their peers on the task-at-hand. Said person should be clear when giving instructions and always help people that may not have understood.
