For someone who has never taken this class before, the way that I would explain learning would be it is the way understand. Meaning everyone understands the same thing differently, learning is a thought process how you think is a way you understand and retain knowledge. Learning is a way of retaining your knowledge. According to our textbook learning is defined as “our ability to take in the world around us and make sense of it so that we can respond to it an efficient, effective, and appropriate manner.” As you can see in the textbook in section 1.2 according to a scientist by the name of Louis Pasteur learning empowers us when our minds are ready to learn. Also in the same section of the text learning empowers us in three ways: 1) it allows us to gain new knowledge so that we can get a better understanding of ourselves, 2) it allows us to develop new skills that we can use in our ever day life, 3) and it prepares us as we grow, adapt, and mature. The way I had explained learning wasn’t too far off. I had said that the way we retain knowledge is a way we learn. However, I would change it and add how learning empowers us. I think my view on learning has changed, I can see how it is a way for me to understand myself better and know how I learn and retain knowledge.
My scores for the Learning Pattern Sequence were as followed: Sequence was 26, Precise was 25, Technical was 18, and Confluent was 21. After learning what my LCI scores were, it made me realize how I learn as well as study. I have been able to

With each Learning Patterns there are issues, it is not all rainbows and butterflies. As I venture into future courses the challenges and strategies I will be able to overcome would be motivating myself. Making sure that I set time out for studies away from the busy schedules of kids and my fiancé. Being able to have a set schedule for school will help me become a better student and not get
Within every subject at school, reading, writing, and chemistry posed a big challenge for me during my high school years. I excel in most subjects, but these three were the hardest to get. The key solution to my problem was to put my mind to it and do very best that I can. This wasn’t easy and I couldn’t do it by myself, there were several factors that allowed me to overcome the difficulties and excel in all subjects. At the reading I was horrible, I couldn’t understand anything I read “What’s the purpose behind reading?”
Anh T Vo Dr. Oxendine Engl 1301-81057 18 December, 2015 Reflection Before my English 1301 class started, I made a commitment for myself that I would get an A in this class. In order to achieve this goal, I make some short-term goals, try my best, and consider my behavior. All actions and thoughts, which I have made in this course, give me a fresh result as the end of the semester is coming. Being an ambitious student offers me opportunities to keep encourage myself study hard and believe that my effort will be paid off. Before this course started, I bought a required book.
As a first generation college student in my family, I was at a disadvantage. Furthermore, I was working a full time job as a manager, while juggling a full course load. This lead me to struggle academically for the first two years of college. My bad grades were due to my lack of time management skill. I realized that dental school can be difficult and perseverance is required to succeed, thus I had to make a change and demonstrate my ability to overcome the challenges I will be facing in dental school.
My future goal is to become a midwife. To prepare for this, I am currently taking two dual credit classes, English and U.S history, I am also in clinic rotations. I am taking these classes because even though they may be difficult at the moment I know they will immensely benefit me later. Apart, from taking dual credit classes I am also working part-time at a restaurant to save up for college. I know that one has to work hard to achieve their goals.
I do not that not let any setbacks or obstacles interfere with my education. I have maintain a 3.7 GPA despite of my after school job during my junior year. My mom told me during my tenth grade year that my junior year was going to either make me or break me. She explained I had to be really on top of my studies and I had no room for small mistakes.
The one thing I want to ensure that I do to stay motivated is planning my weeks out in advance by using my planner. Referring back to my pride, I do not like to be late on assignments or tests. I plan on taking my time when I read over my course work that way I focus better on it and I am able to retain more of it when I am done because, as I said earlier, I love learning new things! Another thing I plan on doing to keep me motivated is joining the SNHU Peer Leader program as soon as I am eligible.
The person I chose for this discussion is my husband Mike. I have yet to convince him to take the LCI, but I'm pretty confident of his patterns. I believe his Patterns are as following; Sequence 22, Precision 22, Technical Reasoning 30, Confluence 26. He uses Sequence as a Use as Needed Level, he likes order in a sense of making lists, or helping me budget, but for the most part he really chooses not to use this pattern in his daily routine. Precision he also uses as a Use as Needed Level, if there is a subject he thinks looks interesting, he will soak up information, especially if he feels it is something he knows he can use at a later date.
Educational philosophy and teaching styles are two aspects of adult learning that influence the teaching-learning transaction in colleges and universities. The educational philosophy can inform the educator with strategies and methods for implementing adult learning principles. Floyd (2010) described the importance of educators knowing their educational philosophy because self-examination and critical inspection of practices will create a consciousness of some unconscious beliefs that affect teaching practice.(1,2) The literature on educational philosophy explains, “When an adult educator engages in the practice of education, certain beliefs about life in general are applied to the practice” . Therefore, educators hold beliefs about how adults learn, how they should be taught, and what instructional practice should look like.
In this world we live in, it revolves around knowledge and wisdom. As humans, we always crave for something more—more about things we know, knowledge about things we don’t know about. Therefore, we dig deeper to know more about ourselves, don’t we? Knowledge, as defined, is the fact or condition of knowing something with familiarity gained through experience or association. Every day that we face bears new experiences which we encounter for us to learn.
College is full of experience and to get that experience students need to get involved in campus and use all the resources that their campus offer. For my first semester at university I learned lots of information that helped me go through my first semester and I will keep using this resources until I graduate. and these resources are not just for school but also for my personal life. The first thing I have learned in college is how to manage my time and it's important to know that skill so that I would not waste time doing nothing and get schoolwork done and it won’t make me stressful because I have many assignment and project to do. and to always get done with my priority first which is my school work.
Instead of doing the same thing every single day, it is beneficial to try new things. When people experience new things, and are introduced to new material, they are learning. Some people do not realize it, but we all learn something new every day. Learning is a relatively permanent change in behavior or knowledge that results from experience. Learning can be adaptive and flexible to meet life’s demand.
A learning style is an individual's approach to learning based on strengths, weaknesses, and preferences. And knowing yourself as a learner is important if you want to achieve to the best of your ability. When it comes to processing information, your brain is the most important part of your
Theory of Knowledge Essay “Without application in the world, the value of knowledge is greatly diminished.” Consider this claim with respect to two areas of knowledge. In contemporary society, it is often argued that the value of knowledge is determined by its application to the real life situations. I am of an emphatic opinion that without application, the value of knowledge certainly abates.
Education is a huge issue that not only affects kids and their parents, but their community as well. Schools teach young kids to become the next generation of engineers, technicians, and political leaders, working towards creating a better future for their country and their community. Teachers have the unique job of creating the future leaders of the world, and preparing them for both college and life beyond, by putting a special push towards math and science, the so-called “foundation” of our society. The hard truth is, no one can be anything they want to be. Some people are simply not cut out to be engineers, doctors, or psychologists.
Digital learning has various effects on the academic performance of the students and this digital learning can help the students to improve their performance in the classroom. Digital learning really makes the students work easier. Because of this, the students may have an advanced knowledge by easily searching their lesson using this technology. There are lots of technology that were integrated into the classroom that help the students learn with comfort, and that allows the student to gain and recall more information.
