Imagine being being in a war and getting a giant amount of your land taken for no justifiable reason. That is what happened to the people of Mexico in the war. The War on Mexico was a war between Mexicans and Americans where the Americans wanted to expand the slave market and the mexicans wanted no part in that. The Americans then annexed texans to expand their land but they also wanted some of Mexico’s because it was bigger. Lots of Tension grew over time and it resulted in a War. The Mexican American War should not have happened, the Mexicans should not have gotten that treatment. Although the United States War against Mexico resulted in the gaining of America's most valuable land, the war itself was unjust because of Texas, Slavery, and US Government Actions.
To start off with, it was unjustifiable due to Texas and their Selfishness. Texas started this war because they were being greedy. The Texans should have been thankful for their great cheap land. Instead, they started causing havoc and doing their own thing in every way. They did not obey the laws they swore they would either. They eventually started to practice their own laws. They only obeyed their given laws when it was

Joshua Giddings stated, “It has therefore become necessary to extend our dominions into Mexico in order to render slavery in Texas.” They overall had wrong intents and Mexico was not digging them. Joshua Giddings also stated “This war is waged against an unoffending people, without just or adequate cause, for the purposes of conquest; with the design to extend slavery; in violation of the Constitution, against the dictates of justice, of humanity, the sentiments of the age in which we live, and the precepts of the religion we profess.” This shows that all of this was them aiming towards the expansion of their slave market. This was another big cause of war because they wanted to expand a slave market while Mexico wanted no part in
Like any other wars, the U.S.- Mexican War was “fundamentally about violence — a violence that did not end once the war or the military phase of the war ended”. The war, to some extent, was about brutality, allocation, racism and expropriation. The war was about “labor, acquiring or making wealth, about capitalist development and what that means”. By claiming this concept in the war, the warriors took land from Native Americans and Mexican violently by showing dominating power of Andrew Jackson to realize their “American dreams”. The behavior of America that seizing lands from a weak neighbor country is not justified because it is morally wrong to seize a country that is much weaker.
The Mexican-American War was the first war to be fought mostly on foreign soil. During this period, the newly formed the United States was eagerly seeking to expand their territory towards the west. When failed attempts to obtain lands by purchasing them from Mexico for the price of $30,000,000 dollars. The U.S. government felt there was little hope of gaining these territories by peaceful means, a war was inevitable. Mexico was still bitter despite Texas gaining their independence in 1836, voluntarily selling their lands to the United States was not an option.
The Mexican American war was legitimate pronounced in 1846 which began off with the skirmish of Palo Alto which Mexican troops were in a detriment and needed to escape which were tailed by American trooper's. Each of the fights Mexican troops needed to withdraw from being dwarfed. During the Mexican American War large portions of the American troops were not prepared in the same territory and numerous passed on of sickness than in combat because of absence of essentials this was america greatest test. The American troops win their way to the city of Mexico after the clash of Churubusco to have their last fight which Mexican troops which were debilitated from the loss of fights and troops. Mexican troops that were in president Antonio Lopez put out an incredible resistance yet there captial city was under the United States full control.
America should NOT have gone to war or annexed Texas. I call it a “pointless war”. The outcome had more cons than pros. Of course Mexico and America were having problems even before the annexation of Texas with where the Mexican-American border was. In document C Mexico calls the war “The American Invasion”.
I believe that the Mexicans caused the Mexican War because of their poor communication and they passed the boundary of the United States. The spot resolution say that Mexico has "invaded our territory, and shed the blood of our fellow citizens on our own soil. " This means that Mexico took the annexation the wrong way and they completely unmannerly of Americas property. Those whose blood was shed were the American soldiers defending the border of the new state of Texas. Also, there was so much miscommunication and Mexico kept blaming America for everything. "
[When Texas was annexed, as part of the United States, Mexico and the United States had a disagreement on the border of Texas. The Mexican’s believed that the border was the Nueces River, while America believed that the border was the Rio Grande. This disagreement caused the war with Mexico in 1846. ] The United States was justified to go to war with Mexico.
INTRODUCTION Throughout the 1840s and 1850s a major war happened called the Mexican American War which drastically changed the U.S. and Mexico and lead to the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo to be signed and which established the Rio Grande and not the Nueces River as the U.S Border. This also lead to the U.S. annexation of Texas and lead to the Mexico agreeing to sell California and the rest of the territory for 15 million. So you 're probably wondering why the war was fought but you 'll find that out later.
This war happened mainly because the U.S. wanted to expand to the Pacific Ocean to fulfill their Manifest Destiny, trying to take away Mexico’s land. Mexico refused to to give land to the U.S. The big question is whether the U.S. was justified in fighting Mexico in the Mexican-American War. The United States was justified in going to war with Mexico because Manifest Destiny, too much Mexican interference, and Texas was invaded. One reason the Mexican War was justified was Manifest Destiny. In Document A, John O’Sullivan writes: “Texas is now ours...Let their reception into the “family be frank, kindly, and cheerful….”
Thirdly, a second reason the Mexican War was not justified because US soldiers were in a disputed area. According to Jesus Velasco Marquez from “A Mexican Viewpoint on the War With the United States,” he states that “From Mexico’s point of view, the annexation of Texas to the United States was inadmissible for both legal and security reasons.” As well as, “The American government acted like a bandit who came upon a
As stated before, the US was justified in going to war with Mexico because of three reasons, Americans were killed, Texas was already annexed, and Manifest Destiny allows it. The United states had many superb reasons for going to war with Mexico. This essay is significant because it helps explain the United States’ choice to go to war with
Since the Mexican people were not able to vote when Santa Anna gave away Texas, they felt as if the US took advantage of them when Santa Anna was president. Mexico did not see the war as a dual sided conflict. To Mexico, the war was an invasion of the weaker by the stronger, and at a time when Mexico was vulnerable
“The United States was indasissible for both legal and security reasons.” Although the United States wanted more land the Mexican American war was not justified because United States knew about disputed area and provoked Mexican troops, another slave state added, and they had no respect for the Mexican government. To begin, The United States knew about disputed area and provoked Mexican troops. In document C it States, “The mobilization of the us army was an outright attack on Mexico.” The United States knew that that's where the border was but they still insist on moving forward into Mexican territory.
The United States of America has been through many wars, wars concerning many things such as land oil, pride and respect. However, when the United States went to war with Mexico, it was planned over greed. The Mexican- American war was a war provoked by the United States, in efforts to expand the coasts of the country. Mexico was a small underprivileged country who had previously to the war had already lost part of their country (Texas). Needless to say this war was cut throat and violent, it was however one of the smartest business decisions America has ever made.
The Mexican-American War changed the Unites States of America in a monumental way. This war changed The U.S.A.’s relationship with foreign powers and the economic standpoint of the nation. The Mexican- American war, and its strong ties to manifest destiny, shaped the nation in a country bordered by two seas with a chance for common folk and foreigners to have a sustainable life due to the gold rush. The war can also be accounted for the downfall leading to the Civil War over the conflict of slavery due to the land purchased in the wars treaty. Conflict between Mexico and the United States began when Texas, previously part of Mexico, became part of the United States.
Although the United States war against Mexico resulted in the gaining of America’s most valuable land, the war itself wasn’t legitimate because of the revolution in Texas, motivation for superiority, and the U.S. government’s actions. To begin, the Texans began an unreasonable war because they didn’t follow Mexico’s laws and conditions. When Mexico started selling cheap land, they set conditions for the people moving in. The people had to convert to Catholicism, learn Spanish, become a Mexican citizen, and have no slaves. Many Americans didn’t like being told what to do, and disobeyed the rules and laws.
