Teaching materials are used in classroom to assist teacher in her teaching. It is an advantage for teachers if the teaching materials he/she uses can attract pupils’ attention and get them engaged in the teaching and learning process as it help to promote in and meaningful learning for the pupils. Thus, it is essential for teachers to consider a few factors when designing or producing the teaching materials.
Recently, we were assigned to work in group and produce a teaching-learning material that we would like to use in our teaching. After we have gone a few discussions, my group members and I decided to produce a ‘mini cinema’ to teach Language Arts.
There are some factors that we need to consider in order to come out with this idea and turn it to reality. First, the factors in selection and evaluation the teaching materials. One of the factors is versatility. As we all know, there are a more than 10 topics in each syllabus and it could be an obstacle for teacher to produce teaching material for each topic as it would cost the teachers’ time, money and energy. Due to this, we were thinking of producing something that is versatile so that the material could be used in more than one situation where we can use it to

Talking about the strength, our mini cinema is flexible where it can be “undone” by separating each piece so that it is easier to keep. The teacher does not need to carry it in its former state as it could an obstacle in future, not only in keeping it but also in maintaining its structure. On the other hand, the mini cinema is not practical when it comes to its size and weight. We are worried that the size of the mini cinema will be too big and heavy for the teacher to carry. Thus, after we did further discussion on the issue, we agreed to make it bigger for the purpose of its clarity meaning that the material needs to be clear to
There would be minimal test and grades would be more based on reflections, papers, and conversations had in class. As for materials, I would want to use a large range of different types of media. I would want to start the class off with Chapter 12: Great Rock and Roll Pauses of Jennifer Egan’s book A Visit from the Goon Squad. The
Through implement activities in this classroom, I observed that children have capacity to use materials in variety of ways to learn and explore base on their experiences and interests. Even though I have planned my activity and image how children might approach to the materials, I restrain instructions and let children express how they play and learn. I stay beside to observe and assist when children needed. It is treasure to see how children excited to learn and be creative. In the classroom, I’m sensitive to individual differences and abilities.
The film 13th directed by Ava DuVernay targets an intended audience of the Media and the three branches of the United States government with an emphasis that mass incarceration is an extension of slavery. It is intended to inform viewers about the criminalization of African Americans and the United States prison boom. 13th uses rhetorical devices in its claim to persuade the viewers by using exemplum in the opening seconds of the film. President Barack Obama presents statistics, saying “the United States is home to 5% of the world’s population but is home to 25% of the world’s prisoners.” Also the film uses a hyperbole in talking about the movie Birth of a Nation produced in 1915 which portrays a black man as a violent savage who will kill white women.
Lesson 12- Students gave their preference to which country they would expand their soda company to and had to back their decision with support from data Lesson 3-Rolling dice game with partners gave students the chance to practice using the exponent properties and then checking their answers with their partners Lesson 4- Students combined their individual properties posters to create a large group poster. They had to make a list of similarities and difference between all their posters. Lesson 8- Students had to think, pair, share on which property of exponents they would be applying to the new concept of multiplying/dividing numbers in scientific notation Lesson 4-Students were able to create properties of exponents posters, collaborate and they were posted in the hall way
The bessbug was able to carry 6 weights which has the mass of 18.85 grams, while ten times the mass of a bessbug is 17.6 grams. The maximum amount of weights the bessbug was able to pull was 10 weights which is equal to 31.46 grams. The data shows the strength of the bessbug and how much the bessbug is able to carry in all. The data occurred because the capacity of the bessbug allows the bessbug to carry 10 weights. The data supports the hypothesis because the bessbug was able to lift ten times the weight of the bessbug which is 17.6 grams, and much more because the total amount the bessbug was able to pull was 31.46 grams.
Introduction The intent of this experiment is to practice the scientific method, by constructing a bridge to bolster as many pennies as possible before it sags 1 1/8”, touching the desk. I hope to get a better perception of the scientific method by doing an experiment. I also hope to gain knowledge about the way bridges are structured to hold more weight. Based on my research, I know that the thicker the bridge is, the more weight it will bolster.
To begin my reflection of my of my journey as an English major here at the department I should first say that any work I completed in my freshman and sophomore year will not be included as I do not have access to them. I have chosen to use pieces that were written in my film studies course and Native American Studies. There are four pieces total that will be looked into three of the four will be pieces will be work from my two film studies courses Film Theory and Criticism and Japanese Film Directors, the remaining one piece as stated above will be from Native American Studies. Initially when signing up for the course in Film Theory and Criticism, I did not know what to expect as we all know how to watch a film, summarize it, and give an
“All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women are merely players,” (Shakespeare), meaning the whole world is like a stage show and humans are the actors. The quote proves that life can imitate art even when it’s not recognized, art is everywhere you look, in places you never thought to look. Theater is represented in any imaginable way, so why is it not good enough for a simple required subject in school? Fine arts such as drama, dance, and art programs get cut from high schools due to the expenses that go into them. People say theater is not needed for the future, no help in the “real world”, and it’s not a life skill.
Language: the language that teachers use has to be high level, which conveys a sense of professionalism that is honourable, moral and dignified. Professional judgement: the teacher should be able to place the needs of the students at the center of professional judgement. The teacher should be aware of his/her individual values, personal experience, commitment to authenticity, decision-making processes and work towards providing sound judgement. There is a school of thought which says that judgement grows with time and implies knowledge and wisdom, that teachers’ judgment improves with time. However, it is essential to ensure that all teachers possess a significant level of professional judgment.
There are many things that make a film interesting. This include historical context (ex. social, government, econ, etc.) and the theory around it. Films represent their times and everything that comes with it. On the other side, is the aesthetic.
Today there has been an increase in the awareness of mental health. In the sense that society has begun to take notice of how mental health effects each individual differently. The media has begun to incorporate a variety of illnesses to entertain to their audience. However, many have questioned if the media is accurately portraying these mental disorders. I chose to compare two popular movies Frankie & Alice and the 2007 version film Sybil.
Movie Definition Movies, also known as films, are a type of visual communication which use moving pictures and sound to tell stories or inform (help people to learn). People in every part of the world watch movies as a type of entertainment, a way to have fun. For some people, fun movies can mean movies that make them laugh, while for others it can mean movies that make them cry, or feel afraid. Most movies are made so that they can be shown on big screens at cinemas or movie theatres. After movies are shown on movie screens for a period of time (ranging from a few weeks to several months), movies are shown on pay television or cable television, and sold or rented on DVD disks or videocassette tapes, so that people can watch the movies at home.
In second language learning, using visual aids is a necessity teaching strategy in both English as Second Language (ESL) classroom and English as Foreign Language (EFL) classroom (Allen, Kate & Marquez, 2011). They believed that using visual aids in the process of teaching a foreign language can strengthen what learners have learned and increase their interest. In their article, they proposed the positive impact of using visuals and they concluded that teachers should become aware of the strategies in which they can use visual aids and use them purposefully in the classroom to enhance students’ learning. Visual aids can be defined as using objects, drawings, charts, photographs, videos, multimedia presentation, etc.
But many pupils do not have adequate Language proficiency to learn from this excessive verbalism. Hence it interferes with effective class-room communication. To avoid excessive verbalismthe teacher may use a variety of instructional materials like charts, diagrams, specimens, models, tape recorders, sound films, video-cassettes and many others which use the best of the communication techniques to transmit the subject
Although the lesson plan’s primary objective is to improve the overall quality of teaching to benefit students, this also improves teacher motivation and development. This is achieved through using the lesson plan as a permanent record of lessons taught. In the case where the lesson has been
