Well before even my grandparents were born, my mother’s ancestors came to the United States from Germany and Ireland. My father's ancestors mainly came from Ireland. They all had the same goal in mind- to have a better life and to find good work in the US. Little did they know how much their later generations would thrive here with all the (natural)resources.
Considering the fact that all of my ancestors moved to the US a very long time ago (over a century) my families story mainly takes place in the states. I haved live in a Suburb outside of Chicago my whole life, and it has come with many perks. Lake Michigan is the source of my families drinking water, and it is show to be extremely beneficial to us. We are so fortunate to have such a large body of water near us- many people take for granted the clean drinking water that is of use to us at all times, but it really is such a blessing. My grandma on my dads side, for example, does not “believe” in recycling. My sister, cousins and I all give her such a hard time because we are going to be the people that have to deal with all the consequences of people like her working against the clean up of the planet. I would argue that the generation I am in knows more and cares more about the ecosystem than older generations because they won’t be around to have to deal with the ramifications or the clean up. There are many school clubs that work to learn about the planet’s natural resources and do their best to help preserve what we have. I was in a club last year in high school called the “Earth Action Club”. Our club put on a huge assembly for the whole school that taught kids about the measures that we can be taking on an everyday basis to help the
