The impact of cleaning supplies to natural environment
Every day people and concerns around the globe use different kinds of cleaning products, which do not let the earth unharmed. Simple activities of todays modern world like brushing teeth, washing the dishes or cleaning the floor have unquestionable impact on the natural environment, which may lead in future to deteriorating situation. It is crucial to understand that the action of individual can have an impact to natural environment, but it is important to remember that the reduction of usage by the individuals is not enough. Moreover it’s not hard to find proofs of the impact of cleaning supplies to natural environment, it is enough to go to holidays to a lake. Most of the lakes are muddy, full of plants and with minimal amount of the fishes. It is a proof of negative impact cleaning products everyone have probably seen. But it is important to remember that everyday millions of square meters are cleaned and it requires with it usage of the cleaning products. Only in the United States of America every year commercial and institutional buildings consume 6.2 billion pounds of chemicals, 4.5 billion pounds of sanitary paper (about 30 million trees), and 1 billion pounds of janitorial equipment. Products use in cleaning all the building from above must be packed in something and sadly for the environment it is usually plastic, which is a nightmare of todays worlds, as about 8 millions tons of plastics are thrown away to oceans every year. The plastic bottles are made with petroleum, phthalates (the substance has negative impact on health and should be avoided), hence to produce the packings for the cleaning supplies the natural resources are use against the earth. Production of cleaning supplies involves also a carbon footprint, which is estimated to be 0.7lbs of CO2 per pound of product. To sum up the cleaning supplies, their production and distribution is not good to the

Even though this problem is there from the very beginning of industrialization, it had till the beginning of this century gone unrecognized, or at least had appeared unimportant. However, with the growing concern of global warming and the fact that various governments are working hard to lay out a framework for the climate change, the consumers are getting conscious of the well-being of their environment which

Home Depot had a clear understanding of its various stakeholders and developed a strong commitment and relationship with its employees, customers, suppliers, communities, and the environment. Home Depot believed that most environmental groups were extremely powerful and had legitimate concerns for protecting the environment. Despite Home Depots belief that environmental groups had an important degree of power, they were not primary stakeholders for Home Depot. Environmental groups can be extremely vocal and they can damage a company because they often encounter negative press, but ultimately they had no impact on whether Home Depot would or would not survive as a company in the economy. Muckraking is what us muckrakers do which is to point out the negatives of the society in which we live in and show how corrupted the government system can be. Also how selfish people can be by treating others and the environment cruelly just for their own beneficial gain. There’s different types of muckrakers such as photographers, speakers and also journalists such as myself who will investigate to tell you the truth of what’s unjust and unfair in the world we live in today. In this article I will talk to you about the innocent civilians of today’s society and about the things that have been going on: such as the unsafe products that companies are making you work with, some of our children having to work jobs that we should have to work, natural resources being wasted disgracefully and other horrible topics as well. Do you think companies really truly do care about their customers or just the benefits they get by having us the people buy the products they sell?
Pollan writes, “Yet perhaps the gravest threat now to local food economies is, of all things, the government’s own well-intentioned efforts to clean up the industrial food supply” (Pollan 450). This statement basically means that as the government spends more money in an attempt to improve the overall cleanliness of industrial farms the local farms are forced to spend money they do not have. Local farming economies must maintain their farms as closely as they can to the government’s standards. This means they must spend large amounts of money improving their facilities.
The u.s relies on agriculture farms to produce their craving for meat and dairy, but the more animals there are, the more manure gets produced and the more water is polluted. Ammonia, a toxic form of Nitrogen, when released in gas form during waste disposal, can spread through 300 miles through the air before being dumped back into the ground or water. Once it is dumped, it causes algae blooms that kill thousands of
Nowadays debris is an integral part of humanity life. Mankind thinks about how to make the product easier and cheaper to use, but nobody cares what happens with waste after it was used. We contaminate the environment with every decade increasingly: muddied air and water, global warming are an output of human life. The worst thing is that from such attitude other living beings are dying. Millions of animals and birds cannot withstand such environmental changes; their populations become smaller and, eventually, disappear altogether from the face of the earth.
Possible chance that this concern isn't covered soon, it will have tremendous affects for us too be carrying on with a solid way of life overtime as our activities will be irreversible. In this way, continuing to spread destructive toxins all around is intolerable conduct towards our environment.
Treating wastewater is extremely vital to the health and well-being of eco-systems all around the world. The treatment of wastewater is a fairly modern concept, though collection systems to remove foul-smelling water were common in ancient Rome, it was not until the 19th century that urbanized areas began to realize that removing the pollutants from the water that they were discharging into the environment was extremely important. (1) The reason that this became so relevant was a direct result of populations becoming so concentrated by the late 1800’s that outbreaks of life-threatening illnesses were being linked to bacteria found in the polluted water. (1) As a result of this, the practice of wastewater collection and treatment was developed
The Atlantic Ocean is the second largest ocean in the world. With an area of about 41.08 million square feet, the Atlantic Ocean covers 20% of the earth’s surface. The Atlantic Ocean is half the size of the Pacific Oceana and animals from Thresher sharks to King Salmon thrive there. King Salmon fish thrive amazing well in the Atlantic Ocean.
Other options for organisations are by reducing waste in the workplace through reuse and recycling efforts that have a positive impact on the environment. Less office waste means less trash in landfills. Recycling paper, aluminium cans, ink cartridges and even office machinery and equipment can help reduce the global environmental impact of consumer consumption. Other options, such as composting, can reduce waste even further. Organisations may be able to generate extra revenue by selling aluminium or machinery as scrap
The world produces more than 300 million tons of paper per year. But remember, books are not the only source of paper consumption. 2. Textbook production by factories can release toxins into the air 3. Many trees are cut down to produce books every year which can lead to water pollution, increasing the temperature and soil
Environmental issues began to be discussed and debated only towards the end of the 20th century. Since then significant amount of literature has been penned down raising awareness about issues of pollution, deforestation, animal rights and several others however it has failed to result in major changes, ideas or even actions to save the environment. Several species of animals have become extinct; pollution level is at an all-time high, global warming is leading to severe climate changes all across the globe but these problems do not seem to alarm the decision makers. Leydier & Martin (2013) also states that, “despite the increasing expression of concern in political and media debates about issues such as climate change, pollution and threats
