To me a Non Commissioned Officer is someone who embodies the acronym L.D.R.S.H.I.P which describes the values that the Army instills into its officers. The acronym stands for Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage. In this paper I am going to write what each value means in my own words and why it is important for a Non Commissioned Officer in the United States Army to possess them in order to be a good Non Commissioned Officer. Loyalty to me is having a strong sense of belonging to someone or something in example you could loyalty for your favorite sports teams or loyalty to your country. It is good that a Non Commissioned officer in the United States Army has loyalty especially UN dying loyalty to his country and for his soldiers so that no matter the situation his or her’s soldiers will know that their Non Commissioned officer has their back at all times. …show more content…

It is important for a Non Commissioned officer in the United States Army to fallow the value duty so that his subordinates and peers know that that particular Non Commissioned officer will get the mission done whether it be tasking soldiers out to clean the barracks or carrying out a convoy operations mission while deployed. Respect is the ability to show proper customs and curtsies to each other regardless of rank or whether or not you may or not like that person.
