Nursing Informatics is the "science and practice (that) integrates nursing, its information and knowledge, with management of information and communication technologies to promote the health of people, families, and communities worldwide." (IMIA Special Interest Group on Nursing Informatics 2009).
Good nursing skills not only involves the direct impact on patient care but the ability to record, store, access and retrieve information that will assist in the care the health of the patient. Such care may involve the transfer of patient or care. The advent of electronic system given a lift, ward, hospital or country makes this area of nursing care reliable for quick access and as such globally nurse acquire an adequate working knowledge of various micro processing outlets such as tablets, smart phones and other specialized medical devices.
The future of this noble profession will undoubtedly be passed on from generation to generation. It is therefore the responsibility of the present day nurses and practitioners to optimize in the field of informatics as the transfer of information to a generation
