One of the most common problems that people struggle with day in day out is a panic attack. It’s a very common problem that you need to be aware of.

It's possible that very many people have suffered from them without knowing what the are. So, what is a panic attack? What causes a panic attack? What are the symptoms to look out for and how can you deal with one?

A panic attack is an out of the blues overwhelming feeling of extreme fear and anxiety that engulfs you. It can be termed as an overreaction of the body’s survival instincts to various situations.

It normally will last anything between 10 to 25 minutes. It starts with a feeling of nausea and the feeling gets worse and will hit the peak crescendo after about 10 minutes.

At this point, you feel hopeless, and it feels like death is coming and it is inevitable. A panic attack is most of the time harmless, but rapid occurrences of the same might be an indication of a more serious panic disorder that requires medical attention.

Panic attacks are caused by too much anxiety and fears. Certain sudden news like the death of a friend or relative, loss of a job or even divorce are also some of the most common reported cases that triggered panic attacks.
