People vary in terms of their physical appearance and personalities, and the words that are used to describe them are just as varied. When I look back, I see many important yet unrelated events that influenced my thoughts, beliefs and overall attitude. While I was actively working to achieve my goals I came across a few significant events that shaped my personality. In 2008 my father – serving in the Indian Armed Forces, was transferred to a remote location in Northeast India. I had to move to Hyderabad to continue my studies and was looked after by my grandmother. At that time my goal was very simple – to serve my country, like my father. My first affirmation was "To be positive at all times and to win over my anger". As a first step, I learned to receive everyone's criticism with a smile. Soon I started introspecting myself in different situations where I usually lose my patience. After weeks of persistence, I could observe the change, when people around me started treating me with more relevance and priority. Bolstered by my newly found strengths, I began my second year of Engineering on a cheerful note. The person I interviewed was a veteran of Army that consequently he stayed some sequels that Iraq war, and one of the problems that affected him was seeing comrades die at war and innocent children died in that war as absurd. This situation affects his nervous system and had to retreat to recover from that sociological trauma. He is original from Puerto Rico; he has a wonderful family and three kids. Also something that characterizes him is Christian and Hispanic. When I make the questions, he mentioned that many years ago did not keep many traditions and customs that he grew, the reason was because he living 25 years in the U.S. He names is Luis Alberto Agosto and then he said I’m originally from Puerto Rico, but I am growth in New Jersey.
These past few months have showed me who 's for and against me . She has told me not to stress the mistakes , I’ve made in the past because that cannot stop me from having a bright and triumphant future . Her wise saying of encouragement has stuck with me throughout this challenging road to success . In the face of responding to conflict, positivity can reduce stress and anxiety, help health, and provide a better environment. During times of conflict, positivity has been proven to reduce both stress and anxiety. In an article from the Mayo Clinic Staff, they commented that “Indeed, some studies show that personality traits such as optimism and pessimism can affect many areas of your well-being” (Mayo Clinic Staff).
As I ponder over my life, each memory seems identical to the other, and I find myself drifting through a reality of similar events that generate the same memories and emotions. Looking back further into my childhood includes memories of my homeland. I remember entering a new world at the age of five, where all of my later memories would be formed. This was when my family moved to the United States from Peru, my native country in the South. The complete change in culture and values truly impacted me when I first moved to Florida, and I reflect over the significant effect it has had on my character during the last thirteen years of my life.
