Plastic should be banned Imagine you walk out of your house and you hear a CRACK! You just stepped on a piece of plastic, plastic is already being littered enough. Imagine like 30 years into the future, there would probably be a lot more plastic and trash outside. Three reason why plastic should be banned is first, plastic is expensive, second plastic can cause health problems, and third, pollution, pollution is horrible for the environment. So keep reading to see about these topics. The first reason why plastic should be banned is, plastic is very expensive for example plastic is made from oil, oil is very expensive and you could get rich of of oil. But a lot of that plastic ends up in the ocean. 10% of the plastic a year ends up in the ocean, this might not seem a lot but that 10% is 260 …show more content…
Pollution has a huge effect on the environment. For example pollution is so bad that there is a new “continent” in the pacific ocean that is called the pacific vortex. The pacific vortex is made up of trash and plastic. In the article “Is bottled water really better?” says that “There is 60x more plastic in the ocean than there is plankton.” That is horrible because if somebody goes to the ocean for a drink of water or something like that there is a chance that they will drink up some microplastics. Also pollution has killed many different animals for example from the article “It's a plastic world” says that “Researchers examined a sperm whale's stomach and they found 30 square meters of tarpaulin, a four meter long hose, a nine meter long plastic rope, and two flower pots.” All of that plastic and trash is what ended up killing the sperm whale. That is because plastic is not biodegradable. This shows that plastic never rots. I also took a poll out of a class of 34 and 27 of the students wanted to ban plastic, a lot of them said they wanted to ban plastic because of pollution and that plastic affects sea
A lot of people enjoy smoking because it is relaxing. Cigarettes is one way people like to take advantage of the calming effects of smoking, but there are many who prefer to smoke from a glass pipe. Due to the negative effects caused from plastic it will always play a role in our environment. One hundred different chemicals have been created after the 1950s to the current day. Something people do not realize is that throwing a plastic wrapper on the ground will end up in a birds stomach, burning plastic in a fire will end up in the air we breathe, and recycling plastic will end up back in our homes. The author states, “I don’t even shop anymore. Anything I need will just float
Society as a whole has become less and less violent. Since 1991, reported crimes committed has dropped by almost double (Statista.com). Many people blame the AR-15 for most of the mass murders in America, and ask for the “assault” weapon to be banned. However, many details of the gun are skewed. In an article written by Margot Sanger-Katz of The New York Times, she stated that of all the gun deaths in America, 60% were suicides; and even more contrary to belief, nearly double of the mass killings (4 or more deaths) were with handguns instead of rifles (statista.com).
The article Bag Ban Bad for Freedom and Environment, by Adam B. Summers, argues that a ban placed on plastic grocery bags would be detrimental to the environment as well as to people. Summers builds his argument with the use of pathos, ethos, and statistics throughout the article. Summers uses pathos in the article to strengthen his argument. He is able to use two examples of the negative impacts of the possible ban on plastic bags.
Imagine living in a world where the air is polluted and most people are afraid to step outside their front door, in the near future, this may be reality for Americans. Americans throw out over 200 million tons of garbage a year, yet recycle not nearly as much. Most people do not realize it but recycling is a vital part of America’s society and if Americans do not perform this action, it will backfire on them. People in America are debating whether Americans are recycling enough and correctly. After analyzing the data, one will definitely agree that Americans need to be more educated on recycling due to the fact that most people do not know what happens after they recycle an item, nearly all Americans are recycling incorrectly, and Am To begin,
Ocean polluting has big impact on human’s health too. As those chemicals are ingested by the animals, it is not good for humans. Because we are at the end of the food chain, we consume contaminated fish and mammals. We might consume much more toxic chemicals than the sea animals. There are different types of ways that plastic is dangerous for humans.
Everyday people buy plastic things from the cafeteria, from plastic containers, lids on cups, and things as small as straws, and like 50% of plastic used it will be thrown away after one use. However, do you ever stop and think, what happens to the plastic? If you’re thinking that it just magically goes away you 're wrong. It will most likely end up in a landfill somewhere or in the ocean, and as you may think that your actions do not impact the world, think again. Everyone in the world has at least used one piece of plastic, adding to the problem of plastic pollution and helping certifying the terrifying statisticc that acooording to the 2018 Earth day video, “by 2050 there will more plastic in the ocean than fish”, which almost is impossible to think of.
The use of plastic bags has been debated for years. Some people prefer to use them, and others would rather use substitutes, and most have their personal reasons why they lean one way or the other in the argument. In this article, the author addresses why he believes plastic bags should not be banned. The author, Adam B. Summers, uses various literary tools and appeals throughout his article, "Bag Ban Bad for Freedom and Environment," to support his argument that banning plastic bags would do more harm than good. Logical appeal is the most frequently used literary device in the passage.
According to a Biological Diversity website (https://www.biologicaldiversity.org/campaigns/ocean_plastics/), the author states that “Thousands of seabirds and sea turtles, seals and other marine mammals are killed each year after ingesting plastic.” People keep littering and that littering is killing precious marine life. The level of
The reason plastic is used in many products is because it can withstand up to tons of pressure per cm3, is cheap, is durable, and finally, there is no worry for discoloring. But these days, plastic is becoming a major problem the world has to deal with. Plastic is thrown into the ocean, and it is breaking down into very small pieces, and killing marine life, as they mistake those pieces to their prey. As a matter of fact, nearly all plastics are recyclable, but it 's the recycling companies ' machines that refuse to recycle that kind of plastic(eartheasy.com). I. Plastic, what have you done?
Imagine what happens if we keep on polluting our planet? What happens to our future generation? Since plastic takes years to biodegrade, if we keep polluting our environment with plastic, then our future generation will suffer from the environment around them. It also means that plastic and other trash will continue polluting the ocean, which can cause thousands of sea animals to go extinct, providing us with less source of food. Not only sea animals, but animals all over the world might extinct or become endangered because of pollution.
To begin, one way plastic bags should be banned is because they cause too much litter. For example, the International Coastal Cleanup in California has collected 7,825,319 plastic bags during the past twenty-five years (1). This shows
Resistant on implementing and installation of the new technology might force government to really impose such regulation and that they are always monitored by the regulatory board and also penalties are very serious matter. 3. Plastic manufacturing produces toxic because it composes several chemical that might endanger the living organisms in the water and can be harmful to humans and it is against the law of the Philippines if companies are not responsible with its wastes. III.
For my own understanding about plastic surgery, it is a reconstruction of body and facial to satisfy our wants and also to help us. Base on internet, "Plastic Surgery is concerned with restoration, reconstruction, correction, or improvement in shape and appearance of body structures that are defective, damaged or misshapen by injury, disease or growth and development."[1 ] Plastic Surgery can cause a good and bad one. It depends on how people choose it to be. In the question if plastic surgery should be banned or not, I will answer not, why?
It is impossible to give an accurate estimation of the amount of plastic that is being polluted into the ocean. However, in 1975 the global fishing fleet alone dumped approximately 135 400 tons of plastic fishing gear and 23 600 tons of synthetic packaging materials
