FACING THE TRUTH I think it’s time for the United Stated to face reality that its government system sucks and doesn’t help the American people as a whole. The way things are structured to assist with poverty is actually set to keep people in that poverty state. The reason why I believe this is because the lower class are not educated enough to get a better job that will not require assistance or unable to get any assistance like the homeless people because they don’t have a steady address. The middle class make too much money to receive assistance, however don’t make enough money really live without assistance. The upper class which controls the government is living life like its golden. I think there are several steps to be done in the United …show more content…
Let’s just start with the affordable healthcare act, which was supposed to help the millions of Americans get healthcare. What it actually does is help a little bit more of the lower class people with some insurance plans, however it totally abandons the middle class. I decided personally to look into some affordable healthcare plans since my husband is a self-employed truck driver and I work part time, health insurance is needed in my family. The plans were too expensive for the average middle class family with kids that require afterschool/daycare services as well. Basically I don’t see the Affordable health plan being any assistance to the middle class families, also the Affordable health plan act should offer free healthcare to homeless people and uninsured children. I think the United States should be like Canada and just offer free health care to everyone. I would rather pay more in taxes knowing that if I get a terminal disease I would receive great care regardless of my income status or my insurance payout coverage for the year. I think personally we can take responsibilities for those less fortunate by educating them on programs and services that are available to them. Once again I know my resolutions wouldn’t fix everything but I believe it would make a big enough
Without a doubt the wealth gap between the rich and the poor has continue to widen. In an article called “Fueled by Recession, U.S. Wealth Gap Is Widest in Decades, Study Finds” written by Patricia Cohen, point out the widening wealth gap between the upper-income compared to the middle-income and low-income. Essentially, upper income wealth has increased 101 percent; it was $318,000 in 1983 and increased to $639,400 in 2013. While low income has decreased 18.4 percent; it was $11,400 in 1983 and decreased to 9,300 in 2013. I think that the government should implement policies to reduce the inequality because it’s becoming an issue.
America had been built by people with good morals, people with motivation, people with determination to make something greater than anything, and they succeeded for a long time, but today it seems that success and good has been thrown down the drain, like it doesn't matter anymore, and in most cases, it is true. Most people today do not care, they want what's best for them, not the people around them, people want to know what America can do for them, not what they can do for America. One hundred years ago it was the exact opposite. The two major economic issues that I would like to address are taxes, and social programs.
This view that Americans once had, was the idea that hard work and dedication is the way to achieving your goals. Through the years, the working class in America has diminished. No matter the cause, Americans have become okay with living of other's tax payments. In the article, "The Welfare State", it is reported that over 100 million Americans receive some sort of government assistance. As these numbers grow, unemployment rates do as well.
The Affordable Care Act has been the topic of many debates and conversations since it was first come about by President Barack Obama. For a long time, I had really no interest in the bill or the essence of the law, that is until my husband took a job that did not offer insurance and we had to look for our own plan. This is the first time we have gone without insurance in our life’s; it is a scary and overwhelming feeling knowing that we are not protected. I can only imagine how other families are feeling in this position. The Affordable Care Act or ACA or Obamacare is not really up for discussion anymore, that is until the November 2016 election.
No matter what your wallet may say, healthcare should be a BASIC human right for everyone. No life should be deemed less important or valuable just because they can't afford health care. People have ALWAYS been employed and work long hours every day and still can't afford to pay hospital bills. With Obamacare not only do welloff, or ordinary to poor citizens have available health insurance for the first time in years, but they can actually afford to fill prescriptions without having to worry. Americans need to get over this idea that we shouldn't pay for our services.
A heavily debated topic in politics in America is on the distribution of Healthcare and health insurance. The main concern is the costs that come along with healthcare and who exactly it is or should be accessible to. Currently in the United States, our nation’s healthcare is under a plan called the Affordable Care Act, implemented by Barack Obama to which many nickname “Obamacare”. The ACA’s original goal was to cater to people of all classes and make it affordable, hence the name, but that plan has not proven to be very effective. However in recent times there has been a debate among presidential candidates of what action to take regarding healthcare including ideas such as a “single payer” system, or a universal healthcare plan as well as a flat tax.
People around the world are poor and we dont stop to help them poverty is killing many .We, those on the very bottom, who are poverty-stricken, can do little about it. Within our rank, we are equal. Very few of us have talents or extraordinary abilities, and next to zero can or know how to use them. Our voices mean nothing. Those in the middle class can speak out and vote, but rarely do, and even when they do, they are easily ignored by most of the affluent scum who care only for themselves.
First, I believe that it is unfair to force Americans to have health insurance in the first place. Just like it is your prerogative to choose whether or not you have cable, you should be able to choose whether or not you're going to insure yourself. In a perfect world, there is no reason to not have health insurance. Unfortunately, in today’s America, poverty-stricken families are not uncommon. For most of these families, health coverage was out of the budget.
We need to make a difference and get everyone equal so we can all live our best lives. Income Inequality in the United States How unequal is the economy in the United States? Inequality has always existed in the U.S. but the gap between the rich and poor has never been as big as it is now. The rich never got torn down even when there were financial crashes, but the poor suffered a lot. Women made 82 cents for every $1 a man made, and African Americans made 78 cents for every $1 white people made, how equal is that?
(wealth inequality in America). I think that money distribution system is wrong for those reasons, and one day if those things don’t change, one person will have all the money and everyone else will have nothing, but that would make America crumble. America needs to redistribute their money, but gradually. If everyone gets re-distributed their money all equally that would be called socialism. But America encourages the American dream, which makes you want to work for more money.

The solution to this problem is to slightly raise the minimum wage so the lower class will be able to gain wealth. In America the difference of wealth between the top tenth of the one-percent and the other 99% is astounding. People in the lower classes can work for wealth their entire life and barely make a
The Act offers individuals access to a more affordable healthcare coverage, from childbirth through retirement age. The Act will cutback the total number of Americans who do not have insurance by more than half. Also, the act will help in covering 94% of the American population with health insurance coverage, decreasing about 31 million individuals who were uninsured, and rising Medicaid registration by 15 million beneficiaries. There will be about 24 million people who are anticipated to continue being uninsured. The Act has several major goals in which it what to see succeed in a near-universal healthcare coverage and for it done over joint responsibilities between the government, individuals, and businesses.
Poverty in America is a difficult topic to speak on; everyone has their own views and experiences on poverty. Certain social trends have impacted the society such as Family Dynamics; The way families are now are a lot different than families of the 1950’s-1960’s, In many cases both adult members of the family are working instead of the traditional husband working to support the family. Even with both members working full time it is still hard to support an average family due to working class wages not adjusting to inflation. Poverty has been increasing at a dramatic rate and the government is supporting more and more people with perverse incentives.
Inefficient policies all around the world and especially in our country are contributing to problems in the society. And the biggest problem which the world faces today is the problem of “Poverty” and “Inequality”. It is hard for one to determine whether poverty causes inequality or is it the other way around because both these problems are interrelated. Poverty is something which is caused due to transferring wealth in to the hands of a specific group and the unjust policies of the government. And inequality is discriminating a person in all spheres of life which gives a rise to sense of deprivation.
