Education is one of the most significant parts of success, yet many Americans are living in poverty because they were never able to receive an education that would allow them be successful members of our society. America has the technology and financial resources to give all of its citizens an exceptional education, but lower class citizens often fall through the cracks of the education system. From a very early age, poor children learn what social class they belong to based on their experiences with educational inequality. Felice Yeskel, a writer who examined the impact that education has on social class, stated that “Educational inequality starts early in life, beginning with uneven access to high-quality, center-based early childcare. It
Taking away E.P.A., State Department, Agriculture, and Education will mostly affect low and middle income people because they will not have sufficient money to get health care and food for their families. In addition, education is necessary for children to get a degree and a job. As of now, certain schools lack certain commodities; their food is not in good quality, and the arts department has less of a budget compared to higher departments such as math or sports. When students are not educated enough, they tend to get the idea that dropping out of school is the best option. They are wrong; without education people tend to be not well informed about current events.
Because many of us will work at a public school, this will leave us with less resources to teach the students who do not attend voucher schools. This could lead to the closure of many public schools due to insufficient funds, leaving scattered public schools open. With only a few public schools open, and many lower and middle class students left, this would increase class sizes but with limited resources. With already high student to teacher ratios, this could make it higher. Many teachers would be burned out and end up quitting and changing careers.
Poverty is universal but does vary within countries, even neighborhoods. According to society poverty is hunger, lack of shelter, not having the ability to see a doctor when necessary and limited education. In third world countries, it is very common for parents to conceive a high number of children as a source of labor. Not only do these kids frequently receive slight or no education, but large families in these countries are the main contributor to global overpopulation. These children are not privileged with the same basic opportunities given to an American child.
Poverty and education share a relationship with one another and in order to fix the problems associated with poverty the problems with education must first be addressed. Another way that economical factors play a role in education is the cost of college. Due to the high expenses that come with college, many families cannot afford to send their children to universities. This means students have to apply for loans, which can take years to pay off. By reducing the cost of tuition more students would be able to go to college.
Sonia Nazario mentions in her book Enriques's Journey page xxiv "Children go to school in threadbare uniforms, often unable to afford pencil or paper or buy a decent lunch. " In this quote, she tries to acquaint the reader some of the issues that Latin American people face in their countries like lack of money and hunger. Accumulated to those subjects, I would like to add the job shortage and politic problems. Some of these situations are the cause of increased poverty in Latin American countries.
Admitting that only 11.69% of American citizens don't get an education, in some countries, education is not available for anyone. To restate, this proves that Americans are spoiled because we did not earn most of the things that we have, it was just given to
Most of the people that live in Latin America don’t have the proper education they need to get a better paying jobs and help out thousands of people get out of poverty. Some of the governments in Latin America are trying to help out the civilians get out of poverty by making students get an education. But getting education also has some boundaries, for instant females don’t get the same education as males do making a gender inequality around Latin America when it comes getting
Forgiveness of Student Loan Debt On a global scale, there is a large amount of people who are unfortunate in the sense that they are all regrettably faced with the issue of the struggle to pay for a proper education. Seeing as those who struggle are unable to pay on the spot, whether it be because they are financially independent adolescents or their families have low financial income, a majority of said strugglers resort to applying for student loans. This allows them to receive an education for the time being, but it still must be paid for eventually. As a result, every student who takes a loan for schooling will be in debt until everything that has been borrowed is paid off.
Again the responsibility shifts to the government, if a government is economically instable then it is hard for it to make and implement policies which will benefit the people. By far the biggest factor responsible for poverty after government’s policy is the problem of unemployment. Unemployment further worsens the living style of the people and they become economically deprived due to which they are unable to cope with the advancing living standards. Access to quality education also causes poverty because without education any person in the world cannot gain access to a good job and that a person has to work on low
Thirdly, gender difference has also played a significant role in the underdevelopment of these nations. Girls are limited to household work and boys attend school and work. Because the women do not work outside, they have to rely on the male member of the house to make all kinds of decision, including health. Fourth, unlike in the industrialized nations, poor people in the underdeveloped nations have to pay higher taxes and even part of what they cultivate annually, which is why poor people remain poor throughout their
Amanda Ripley stated that “America Lags behind other countries” around the globe with academics, but if we put more academics and canceled sports we would be able to catch up to the other countries in the learning program. Not only is Fremont high affecting their own learning, but also the middle school had to move in with the senior high school, and the “elementary school hadn’t had a music teacher in years”
For many years, schools around the nation have focused on sports instead of their academic studies. Many studies show that these activities are harming places of learning. Therefore, districts around the country should stop this after class past time to save money, reduce the child’s stress, and to increase the learners grades As many Americans know, money can help to achieve a great education. In an article “Should Your School Get Rid of Sports”, it was found that “many schools can not afford to repair classrooms due to the lack of funding”(Ripley 10).The biggest events the schools have to pay for are the games, they have to pay for the concession stands, to clean up after the kids who leave their trash and they have to repair the bleachers
If they had the right education they could have access the basic information needed to help them. This may be a factor of self-harm and abuse because education and knowledge is a powerful tool that gives people confidence and empowers them to know their rights to good treatment. Poverty is also a social exclusion factor because most service users do not have the right finances to afford good healthcare services for themselves or gain employment. The small amount of money they have like Mrs.P is being used by her son for
In my opinion, the government has a big responsibility in human development. Why we can see a gap on those students who came from a poor neighborhood than from those who came from a middle class or high class neighborhood? Why those students who came from a low economical class have a cultural shock and social shock when they got in the university? The answer is that they don’t receive a quality education on their schools, but as they see that they can confront it and get good scores in their home schools. However, they are in a different environment, where most of the youth people who are attending to school don’t pursuit more than a high school
