Ramayana is one of the greatest Indian epic of all time. The story tells us about the life in India in around 1000 BC in dharma, Ramayana is about a prince called Rama who lived by the rules dharma. He was a perfect son, a perfect husband and a responsible ruler and that is why Indians considers him heroic. Ramayana was written by a Brahmin named Valmiki in Sanskrit language which is 24000 couplet-long and was later transformed into many different languages like Chinese, Thai, Telugu, Bengali, Kashmiri, and Tamil. The first epic was written in around the start of the Common Era. It has then been told translated throughout South and Southeast Asia. Ramayana has it’s primarily roots of Hindu origin but it also exists in other versions within some Buddhist and other Asian religious traditions. Ramayana to this day is preformed in dance, drama, puppet shows, songs and movies. Every year a fourteen-day festival in October is celebrated to demonstrate the siege of Lanka and Rama's victory over Ravana. Firstly, relationship between siblings is important, Laksham gave up all the luxuries for Rama and went to live with him. Bharat was so devoted to his brother that when he got to know that Rama was exiled he kept Rama’s slippers and ruled by his name. In today's materialistic world where disputes between siblings are common, stories like these need to be repeated time by time and be reminded of this tale. Children should be encouraged to not only spend time with their siblings, but also stand up for each other and be there for each other when in need.
