THE ROLES OF MEDIA TO THE YOUNGER GENERATION

SEX, VIOLENCE AND THE MEDIA

THESIS STATEMENT

Mass media is something that we called it as a communication. It can be a various style of communication whether it is written, broadcast or spoken that can reach to large audience. By using this mass media, it can relate with Internet, television, radio, advertising, newspaper, magazines and so on. In today’s society, we can see a lot of issues regarding the social media that we can see a lot of people shared it. Younger children tend to model behavior they see and don’t always understand the difference between reality and entertainment therefore, exposure to sex and violence through the media’s influence can causes many problems. So, it is the roles of media to handle this issue in the proper way.

RESEARCH TOPIC

The topic that we choose is on my research is the role of mass media to avoid the influence of violence or sex on young generation. We focused more towards young generation because at this stage, they are easier to be influence with surrounding around them. So, mass media should play an important role in order to avoid this problem

Sexual violence, bullying and so on is not a good thing that should we followed especially by young generation in this century. They are more likely to be pleased by what they saw, especially that shown by the media. Because of that, the media should play very important role to prevent these things from getting worse. Media should observe and study the benefits of using media to spread the information towards society. As a media roles, they should block and filtered the content of any media tools especially television. As an example, they should filter the pornography scene to avoid young generation watch it and be influence with it. Parents also play an important role to prevent their children from being influence with the sex and violence
