The Inca reigned from 1438 to 1533 CE in what is now Colombia all the way to Chile, the Aztec reigned from 1428 to 1521 CE in today’s southern Mexico.(1) These great civilizations are relatively close to each other and have many things in common. The Inca and the Aztec can be considered sister civilizations of the early Americas.
In addition to all this they accumulated a huge amount of wealth which ultimately led to their demise in 1532. Many key advancements and developments made in farming allowed the Inca Empire to thrive in the Andes Mountains. The innovations that allowed them
The Aztec tribe is incredible in how they lived and thrived between the 14th century and the 16th century. They were very advanced for their time and had cities that were just as large as some in Europe. The Aztecs had enormous temples, remarkable ceremonies that included human sacrifice, and gigantic monuments, all to worship their gods. All within a 200 year span the Aztecs became an empire unlike any other. It seemed as though they were unstoppable.
By 1325 they began to settle. The Incas, on the other hand, were a small tribe in the Andes in struggle for the rare, rich soil in order to establish farming. When they settled in Cuzco, around 1200, they began to become a powerful
The Inca’s warfare tactics were incredibly unique compared to other indigenous societies. They often shied away from simply fighting and rather used the tactic of diplomacy to win battles, claim land, and leave with minimum bloodshed. The Incas were excellent diplomats and were able to negotiate with the tribes they were fighting against. For example, when the Incas went to war, they would tell the other tribe that they wouldn’t fight them if the tribe simply gave in and became part of the Incan military.
This was a way to allow them to still expand their empire while still being able to provide for their country men. The Inca believed in using force as a last resort. Which led them to grow so large while not having civil war but if you opposed them they would kill everything and one in sight whoever was left was sold into slavery.

The Incas and the Aztecs often are paired together, as they were part of the same period of time, the 1300s to the 1500s, and similar places, as they lived in regions of South America and Mesoamerica. These two civilizations are different in an economic way, as the Incas were self-sufficient because of agriculture and the Aztecs were more trade based. I argue that the economical differences between the two civilizations were caused by their environment and their technological advancements. Aztecs traded because they needed a way to gain land and in turn, induce beliefs. But first, how did they travel to get goods to other places?
History: Aztec Life and Culture The Aztec civilization is one of the most spectacular examples of culture and art found in world history. The Aztecs were a group of American Indians speaking Nahuatl who arrived on the North American continent from the arid cactus lands of Northwest. They settled in Mexico for centuries where they were initially enslaved by the other Nahua tribes before emerging as a powerful tribe. The history of the Central Valley of Mexico after tenth century A.D. is dominated by a long tradition of tribal conflicts that led to the fall of several civilizations, replaced by subsequent Nahua tribes.
“In this ethnographic self-analysis Guaman Poma anticipates the stance of several modern Peruvian writers” Felipe Guaman Poma de Ayala’s in his work “Tocay Capac” explains in details the story of the first Inca. With some short stories, the readers learn all about various aspects of the Inca culture, the colonial times and the Spanish conquest. As the quote above shows, Poma de Ayala wrote about different people, where one of them was Tocay Capac. He was the first Inca King, who came from Adam and Eve, “…came from the aforementioned legitimate descendants of Adam and Eve and the progeny of Noah…”(pg.32). Tocay, Ynga and Pinau were the first authentic human beings that represented Incas.
Inca people were located in modern day Peru, the capital of Cusco. The place that they were located is nicknamed the “lost city”. The place was called the lost city because the city was never found by the Spanish invaders when they conquered the Inca in the 1500’s. By the early 1500’s the Inca people were located 200 miles north to
