Sectarian Violence is an act of violence caused by the sectarianism between the sects of people having one ideological and religious background. Muslim States particularly Pakistan is facing a sharp resurgence in sectarian violence. One of heart hurting event was encountered at Rawalpindi. On November 15, 2013, it was an official strike throughout the Pakistan. People of Shiites (one of the large group of Islam) were busy in promenade of 10th Moharram, Youm-e-Ashhura showing their grief to Imam Hussein (A.S) in remembrance of historical incident of Karbala. The whole state was set on high security alerts. Security agencies were appointed for the safety of processionals. It was an afternoon hour in Rawalpindi, a troop of processionals was moving towards their destination. Simultaneously, a religious insulting sermon against Shiites was being delivered from a mosque using loud speakers which was on the procession route. That was the time, when clashes between the people of two sects named as Shiites & Sunnis were triggered. Stampede after the clash created more casualties. It is not only effects the nation’s peaceful environment but also destabilizes the country’s political, social, religious and security setups (Moonis Ahmar, n.d., p. 2). According to Pakistan security report (2012), the incidents of sectarian crises are at peak in Karachi, Quetta, Gilgid and Karam Agency. Sectarian clashes and related terrorist attacks were significantly increased around 53% in 2012 in context to 2011. Census of 2009 till 2012 revealed that the cases of sectarian attacks and clashes increased from 152 to 213 while killing rates were quite increased as 446 killings in 2009, 663 in 2010 and 563 in 2012.
