ALFARO, DIONEL L. C/M MARVIN JAPITANA MT32-B2 II. VIEWPOINT Ship collision is the physical impact that occurs between two or more ships resulting from a damaging accident. It may involve ships, a stable or floating structure such as a port, an ice berg or a drilling platform. Most of the similar cases the impact is always devastating. The damage that such accident causes may result to a lot of consequences. With the growth of the maritime industry, thousands of humongous ships capable to travel with great speed are being produced each year so the traffic in the seas becomes denser and a greater chance of collision. When a ship collision occurs it may result to grave consequences such as loss of life which can never be compensated for, the negative impact in our environment due to oil and chemical spills, and billions of dollars will be wasted due to the ships’ cargo and will be spent due to the salvaging of ships that sank. What is so great about America, though, is that everyone unites together to fix a problem. Many passengers arrived for a relaxing, wonderful cruise but found themselves thrown into chaos as a torpedo entered the ship. This caused America to help out in the war by lending Britain equipment, soldiers, and jobs during this tough time.
Introduction: On December 7th, 1941, Japanese aircrafts bombarded the American fleets in a Pearl Harbor naval base, near Honolulu Hawaii. The attack had devastating consequences and caused America and Japan to be at each other's throats. As a result, President Roosevelt declared war on Japan and unleashed two major bombings putting Japan to its knees and forcing them to sign a surrender document, later on, putting America and Japan at peace.
wave then settled back down. A few minutes later, the Captain came back, took his seat, and resumed eating, again without saying anything. We later learned that we had missed colliding with a merchant vessel by a matter of feet. After calmly leaving the lunch table, Captain Siegrist had climbed the stairs to the bridge, assessed the situation quickly, and issued the exact and correct orders for course and speed necessary to avoid the collision. And then he returned to his lunch as though it was just another day at the office.
