INTRODUCTION
• Shipbuilding is the construction of ships. It normally takes place in a specialized facility known as a shipyard. Shipbuilders, also called shipwrights, follow a specialized occupation that traces its roots to before recorded history.
• Shipbuilding and ship repairs, both commercial and military, are referred to as the "naval sector". The construction of boats is a similar activity called boat building. The dismantling of ships is called ship breaking.
• Consist of activity such as design, procurement, logistic, welding, and painting.

The shipbuilding and ship repairing industry is an industry that build and repair the ship, it is a crucial industry that provides the backbone for the development of merchant shipping in Malaysia. It is one of the core sectors in the marine transportation sector in the country and provides a platform on which skills in various activities such as naval architecture, engineering, welding and fabrication are developed.
