New ideas bring leading scientists, policy makers, funding bodies, and doers at national, regional, global levels to help people out of rural poverty for development and make smart village. New Insights catalyse to promote discussion between scientists, entrepreneurs, NGOs and people in rural villages. Main aim to make a smart village is to make it provided with welfare services and employment, becomes independent yet connected with rest of the world. In this paper different parameters to make a smart village are considered. Section I includes introduction of Smart Village, Section II includes related works on smart village has been done in the world. Section III includes ideas to make the smart village. A smart village will automatically link local production with local procurement and local distribution. A smart village will not only bring Internet connection to the rural hinterlands, but will also provide support to sustainable agricultural practices. A network of small scale industries linked to agriculture, and a strong network of rail and road corridors with civic amenities such as education and health for all, including farmers, will transform the face of real India.
That’s the kind of change India expects. That’s the big ticket reform the country has been waiting endlessly for over the last 67 years. Smart villages will not only reduce growing inequality but also bring acche din for the last person in each and every corner of the country. It will at the same time reduce the burden of influx on the cities, and help tackle environmental challenges, too.
Concept of “Smart”, will include having vision for future, foresight and learning from best practices - be it an individual, a community, a Gram Panchayat/Ward, a city or a country. This being a continuous process, it also means acquiring better processes and with better equipment with latest know how. Being smart means acquiring latest knowledge putting the idea into action. An idea that is developed and put into action…….. is more important than an idea that exist only an idea
