Having gender gaps between girls and boys is a big reason to why so many children are out of school at a young age. (10 barriers to education around the world, 2014) This is due to poverty and conflicts in their country. It is believed in some countries that girls are better off staying at home and do the chores as it is not worth paying the money for a girl to go to school.
Education is something that everyone needs to have, and nothing should stop a person from having the essential education. With education you can see the world differently, because when you learn what education is, you learn to have knowledge, to have ideas and to know how the world is in itself. A person who does not learn what education is likely to get lost in life and not even know why he was born. This was the case because the issue of how poverty affects education, both positively and negatively is particularly very difficult to predict the conclusions without penetrating into the core of the issue. For instance, one may unreasonably rush into concluding that poverty affects education negatively only and we cannot even dare to speak of poverty affecting education positively. The study was conducted in three schools namely; Mulunguzi, Masongola and Chirunga Private Secondary schools in Zomba district between 24th April and 3rd May. In this research we used both government and private funded schools to have a more balanced result on how poverty affects formal education in these different institutions. The information required for the study was collected through group interviews of form three students and individual interviews with teachers using semi-structured interview schedules.

Scope and Rationale: In my study I am going to analyze the physical and human factors that lead to poverty and inequality. It also spells out some of the measures which could be taken by me as a responsible citizen of today’s world and also by the concerned government authorities and role of NGOs. I chose this topic because in this fast growing world people still suffer from inequality which often leads to poverty.
