The number of users for using social media is on the rise due the revolution of mobile devices. Singaporeans are one of the most active social media consumers in the worlds. According to Kemp (2015), Singaporeans are spending almost 2.2 hours on all social media channels daily and 59% of population are active accessing their social network accounts via mobile. According to Singapore Polytechnic (2015), there are 68.4% of 800 Singapore youths have had experience with cyberbullying which is one of the problem in social media. The most typical form of cyberbullying is harassment - repeatedly send cruel, vicious, and/or threatening messages.
Therefore, in this essay, I will discuss the problem of harassment that arise from the use of social media in Singapore, evaluate current solutions and suggest the possible solutions that can be implemented to address the problem at hand.

It is to protect the victims and families of harassment that happens in the online world even outside Singapore. According to Act, the victims with sufficient evidence can apply to the Court directly for Protection Order to prevent the spread of the existing harassment content by stopping others re-publish the content even sue for monetary damages. Negative Psychological Effects of Homework: How It Affects High School Students Health Introduction Bullying has been problematic for many years and has taken various forms throughout the course of time. The most common form of bullying previously included verbal and physical actions in sometimes violent ways. Now, however, with the internet having been introduced in more recent years, a new form of bullying has emerged known as cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is “...bullying that takes place over digital devices like cell phones, computers, and tablets“ (7). The consequences that come with these actions are severe and are being fought against yet these efforts aren’t enough to stop this issue from growing.
They referred to cyberbullying as the harassment of others by means of digital technologies, with the aim of harming someone directly or indirectly. This included verbal abuse, malicious calls, embarrassing or humiliating someone on the internet. Their results revealed that the mode in which cyberbullying is experienced can differ depending on age, with older teenagers experiencing more severe cyber-attacks. The complexity involved with cyber bullying was also noted as there are various means for attacks, for example, emails, texts and chatrooms. Many of the children noted that learning about cyberbullying and how to protect themselves was best learnt at school.
