The number of users for using social media is on the rise due the revolution of mobile devices. Singaporeans are one of the most active social media consumers in the worlds. According to Kemp (2015), Singaporeans are spending almost 2.2 hours on all social media channels daily and 59% of population are active accessing their social network accounts via mobile. According to Singapore Polytechnic (2015), there are 68.4% of 800 Singapore youths have had experience with cyberbullying which is one of the problem in social media. The most typical form of cyberbullying is harassment - repeatedly send cruel, vicious, and/or threatening messages.
Therefore, in this essay, I will discuss the problem of harassment that arise from the use of social media in Singapore, evaluate current solutions and suggest the possible solutions that can be implemented to address the problem at hand.

It is to protect the victims and families of harassment that happens in the online world even outside Singapore. According to Act, the victims with sufficient evidence can apply to the Court directly for Protection Order to prevent the spread of the existing harassment content by stopping others re-publish the content even sue for monetary damages. For example, a popular local blogger Wendy Cheng as known as Xiaxue has applied for protection who has suffering from the years of harassment from Facebook page SMRT Ltd(Feedback). If the victims are able to proof the accuracy of the content, the others need to remove and notify the content is false by posting a notification. Under the Act, the offenders can be fined up to S$5,000 and/or imprisoned up to 12 months. The fine increases to S$10,000 and/or imprison up to 2 years for a repeat
