Climate change has been raised as a problem both on the domestic and international levels in the United States, and Green Theory can be used to help explain this growth in awareness. This has led to programs such as the Environmental Protection Agency sponsored Clean Air Act, which determined that carbon-dioxide and greenhouse gases were harming the general public. Policies such as the Clean Air Act although it mainly focuses on the wellbeing for humans would still fall under the concept of Green Theory for it is considered a governmental approach to the environment or the non-human resources and falls under the pillar of taking
According to a State of Science Review done in 2008, organic food is more nutritious than inorganic as there are no chemicals or additives going into your body. This means less risk of disease and illness and overall better health, which will be cheaper in the long run as you will save money on health care costs. People with illnesses like Cancer and diabetes, claim that there is a definite improvement in their health after changing their diet to organic
There are many things that people are doing to help reverse the effects that have started to happen and if everyone can help pitch in it is possible to help with the problem. Dr. David Robinson, a professor at Rutgers University, gave me some insight about what anyone can do to help with the issue of climate change, "In a nutshell, we can all "attack" the problem by reducing our consumption of fossil fuels. This includes using cleaner energy sources and simply using less energy. For individuals/families this can mean lowering the thermostat, driving more fuel efficient vehicles, installing solar panels on a home, beefing up insulation on a home, etc. It also means being an advocate for the environment.
Although people think organic foods are a waste of money, organic foods avoid chemicals. Instead of chemicals, organic food contains fruits, along with nutrients which provide a better taste. Organic foods can lead to a better and healthy environment. Therefore organic foods are the way to go. Although expensive, organic foods stand out as the healthiest and most nutritious and benefit the environment.
4). Sometimes I wish that global warming is just the world pulling a prank on us, but I feel its not doing that with us. Global warming is one of the greatest discussions this world has ever had. The U.S.A. is discussing why this is happening. In the unsigned article Global Warming the writer wrote, ” Crowded landfills, polluted water, and poor air quality are just a few of the environmental problems that affect both industrial and developing nations”(“Global” par.1).
In today’s day and age, climate change is becoming a hot topic. Whether one is an advocate for change or is just skeptical of the entire belief, there is no doubt that this concept is relevant to the modern society. In an article by Robert J. Antonio titled, “Climate Change and Society by John Urry," he evaluates the research of scientist and breaks down the complexities of climate change for the audience. In a separate article by Ashokankur Datta and E. Somanathan titled, “Climate Policy and Innovation in the Absence of Commitment”, the authors evaluate policies concerning the pricing of adapting to more emission-free, healthier technology for the environment. These two articles will be compared and contrasted based on reasons why the public
The Earth’s Temperatures are getting warmer, so that means that the water temperatures around the world are increasing to. The articles have found that “The 3% of scientists that do not believe in Climate Change” (California Heat Waves). The three topics that are going to be talked about is Global Warming, Hurricanes, and Sea Level Rise. Over many years Earth is getting warmer, this issue needs to be solved, and fast before time is too late. The frequency of Hurricanes are becoming more and more common, the intensity of the storms are getting stronger, and stronger faster.
Climate Change is one of the most unsettling problems mankind faces today. It leaves an impact on every single living thing, on every continent, no matter the privilege. Long term investment must be used to change the world. People must do more than just change out their light bulbs for eco-friendly ones, or drive fuel efficient cars. A choice as simple as changing our diets could reduce a human’s carbon footprint by fifty percent.
Currently, long period of drought, tropical storms, as well as rising sea levels are really and truly existing phenomena resulted from climate change (Global Climate Change: Evidence 2008). Evidently, human activities are the major causes, some people, however, still intentionally disregard that their patterns of behavior are leading to the irreversible climate issues, such as the American Republicans. In order for our Earth to restore to health, national governments as the most commanding organizations within countries have to come up with effective, efficient, and corresponding strategies to guide their citizens to adapt the existing climate change and more importantly to prevent from potential man-made disasters, respectively. Examining causes are definitely the first step to tackle problems, not to mention climate issues. To be more specific on climate topics, burning fossil fuel has been the radical basis of our economy since the Industrial Revolution, whereas a fatal impact is destroying our living planet: carbon dioxide is incredibly accumulating in the atmosphere due to the exploitation of fossil fuel.
Others wanted to maintain better health and nutrition (67%), and the rest just wanted to avoid genetically modified foods (55%). However, there are also some people who choose to eat organic food for ethical purposes, which is commendable. Another survey stated that health, taste and caring for nature and the environment are the three most significant motivations for buying organic products. The survey showed that 55% of the people chose to eat organic because they wanted to stay healthy, 53% stated that they wanted to avoid chemical residues and reduce the risk of getting cancer. 44% wanted to care for the environment and nature while 35% enjoyed the taste of organic foods.
