Air pollution pervasively impacts humanity as a global society. It results in minimized quality of life and initiates instability within the environment. Air pollution causes extensive detrimental health effects on the residents of Southern California, especially on select sensitive individuals, and has significant adverse impacts on the environment of Southern California. The health of individuals residing within the boundaries of Southern California is steadily tarnished by the destructive qualities of polluted air. The effects of air pollution on the human body over a relatively minimal amount of time are unlikely to have major effects on youthful and healthful individuals. However, over more extended periods, the results …show more content…
The exhaust emitted from trucks causes the quality of air to immediately rise to a point that is 4,000 times as polluted with
“particulate matter” as is considered suitable for a person’s health. Some other negative impacts of air pollution on the residents of southern California include a variety of temporary symptoms such as difficulty breathing, headaches, runny noses, and itchy eyes, as well as the development of more severe and chronic ailments such as heart disease and asthma. Asthma is one of the most prominent health issues that air pollution incites within the human body. It is highly probable that Asthma is a direct result of air pollution, although absolute evidence has not as of yet been provided to support this idea. More substantial evidence has, however, expressed the magnification of asthma that air pollution initiates within those that are already afflicted with the disease. It is possible for the negative impacts of air pollution to spread throughout the entire body, damaging a variety of organs and body parts, while diminishing the body’s ability to effectively function. The fine pollutant particulates,
Water Pollution in San Joaquin Valley San Joaquin Valley is a place that stretches from 7 different counties such as Stanislaus to Kern county. San Joaquin Valley is known for their agriculture land since the late 19th century, which feeds most of the United States with the vegetables and fruits that are grown in the valley. The rich life of life in agricultural fields rely on the water supply that the valley contains such as groundwater and water on shore. Throughout the past decades, the water quality in San Joaquin Valley becomes to decrease from clean water to polluted water.
The Bronx is an incredibly urban and populated area attracting traffic from all over. It is home to waste sites, distribution centers, power plants, and so much more. Though each building gives off a different type of waste, whether it be smog from smokestacks or diesel exhaust from trucks, each of these large sites that exist throughout this small area give off a fine particulate matter known as PM2.5. This matter is essentially what contributes to the difficulty breathing people experience as these tiny particles can become lodged in a person’s lungs over time. Studies have consistently found a strong correlation between PM2.5 and conditions like asthma, lung disease, and heart disease.
Pet fur, urine, saliva, and dander may bother people with asthma or allergies, and can cause allergies or asthma. Change out your old light bulbs with fluorescent lights. They use a lot less energy, are better for the environment, and will have a longer lifetime. Check all smoke detectors once a month, and be sure to replace the batteries, and eventually, the alarm itself. Lastly, keeping your house clean can greatly reduce asthma and breathing problems.
Air quality is known to be a key factor in affecting the wellbeing and quality of life of the general populous and there is a large body of knowledge indicating that certain underrepresented groups may be overexposed to air pollution. (Zou et al. 2014). This is an example of the air quality in locations with a lower known location that is associated with poor air
It is Not like We Need It to Breathe or Anything - the Issue of Air Pollution in Utah One of the largest issues that our society currently faces as it moves towards the future is the issue of air pollution, and its effects on our daily lives. A negative externality caused by our dependence on modern technology, industrial fields, and engineering, this increasingly dangerous impurity is harmful to both nature and people. Air pollution is a constant problem all over the United States, especially in the larger industrial sectors such as large cities where fossil fuels are constantly being burned by factories, motorized vehicles, and power plants. In the state of Utah, air pollution is a constant problem caused by many different factors, such
Asthma has a significant impact on society, affecting over 6 million children under the age of 18 in the United States alone. Reasonable ways to control this disease are medications such as inhalers and spirometry to test the strength of your lungs. There is a myriad factor from environmental constraints, physical and the one built by humans is noted as a major factor affecting the development of asthma. Indoor air pollution is the most common form of air pollution, along with first-hand and second-hand smoking. Air pollution is often greater in lower socioeconomic neighborhoods with mold and cockroach infestations and access to medical care.
For this situation, people have a broad contribution to excessively polluted air since we emanate such outrageous levels of toxins that cause significant issues, for example, environmental change and ozone exhaustion. Because of our un human ways, the harmful air toxins, chemicals that shape corrosive rain and ground-level ozone has harmed trees, crops, natural life, lakes and different regions of water in Blacktown. Our transportation advances more than half of the carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides, and very nearly a quarter of the hydrocarbons released into our air. The human race has become capable of affecting Blacktown and the atmosphere that borders the Earth. Everyday in our neighbourhood, air contamination keeps us from going to work and school as it develops a large number of sicknesses through
Some cities in china have everyone wear gas masks when they go outside. That 's just tragic! Can you imagine getting lung cancer for standing outside for 10 minutes? Cars can release 2 different kinds of pollution. There is primary pollution that goes straight into the air to pollute it and secondary pollution.
1. Introduction Air pollutin is a public health concern and it has been since the discovery of fire. Incidents and episodes of air pollution have been recorded throughout the history. Air pollution is divided into two, it is the indoor air pollution and the outdoor air pollution. Indoor air pollution is produced in households or at offices by pollutants such as tobacco smoke, household products or pesticides.
By using data from various sources, they came to the conclusion that not only is air pollution exposure harmful to the respiratory and cardiovascular systems of the body, but that it also should be considered as a cause of inactivity in humans, as inactivity was shown to increase between 16-35% per exposure class in normal weight respondents. This article further shows evidence of the dangers of air pollution, which will be useful to show my audience that air pollution can negatively influence the activity levels of people. Also, it can show how this inactivity can cause high levels of obesity and other health problems. The source is credible because it is a peer-reviewed article published in a respected journal. Each author works in specialized fields, such as Preventive Medicine and Biometrics, and Epidemiology consult services for the United States Air
Automotive emission related air pollution must be reduced before its effects on health can
Castil, Czarina Beata N.11-HA1 Informative Speech Outline Topic: Air pollution Specific Purpose: I will inform where air pollution takes place, how it affects us economically and how we can help keep the air cleaner. I. Introduction a. Attention Material: Breathe in. Now, breathe out.
CHAPTER 1 1. INTRODUCTION The air we respire contains mixture of natural and man-made chemical, physical and biological elements that modifies ambient air quality. Among all air pollutants, the most threatening for human health include particulate matter and gaseous pollutants such as carbon monoxide, ozone, nitrogen dioxide and sulfur dioxide (WHO). The movement of people into urban areas and the growth of industry within these areas has carried more people into contact with air pollution than any other time in recent memory.
One of the greatest issues that we face towards the environment has been an increasingly difficult problem over the last few years. Earths climate is changing at rapid paces and solutions are needed as quickly as possible to replenish natural ecosystems and cultures that depend on the environment. Climate change not only affects the animals in our ecosystem, but us humans as well. With the human population increasing every year, climate change is only getting worse. Many argue that the effects of climate change towards the environment are due to other extraneous factors, however, I myself am a strong believer that the problems such as rising sea levels, warmer temperatures and natural disasters are all due to both natural causes and human activity.
There are many problems that threatens society and one problem in particular, air pollution is a problem that threatens everyone. Air pollution is the contamination of air with pollutants that are harmful to humans, animals, and the environment. It began to be a problem when humans discovered the uses of fire and then the amount of air pollution exponentially grew after the industrial revolution, and is still a problem even today. The largest causes of air pollution are from human activities such as burning of fossil fuels and gas emissions from manufacturing plants. There are ways that ordinary people can help contribute to prevent air pollution and or else face the dangerous consequences of polluted air.
