Do My Spiritual Gifts Guarantee Heaven?
I will like to share this story about spiritual gifts with you: “A group of Christian youth gathered in a friend’s house for bible study. They chose to study how the several spiritual gifts could help the growth of the church. One of the youth made a remark, “I don’t understand how different gifts can work together.”
At that instant a man accidentally dropped his glass cup. This broke and spilled tea all over the carpet. Each youth member responded differently to the misfortune, according to their spiritual gifts. The teacher gave some advice. “Always put your cup on the table, so that it won’t occur again.”

Thus, spiritual gifts could help our society, if the church could disallow division and work as a team.
What is the Essence of Spiritual Gifts?
Spiritual gifts are supernatural abilities given to man by God. The main significance of spiritual gift is to uphold the expression of God’s love to humanity.
God is the Sole Giver of spiritual gifts. I learnt some school of Theology and Pastors teach their members the alphabets of speaking in tongues - abomination! It is the duty of the Lord to determine the suitable spiritual gifts for you. And He ordains you to exhibit the gift for the physical/spiritual need of people in your vicinity.
Matthew chapter 25 verses 15 say: “And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own …show more content…

The Lord did not bless us with divine gifts for the purpose of boastful classification. I discovered that some spiritual gifts are exhibited by unbelievers as well. Thus, the role of spiritual gift is different from the role of spiritual lifestyle in Jesus.
First Corinthians chapter 12 says: “…There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit… But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge… faith… gifts of healings… working of miracles… prophecy… discerning of spirits… different kinds of tongues… interpretation of tongues…” None of these nine gifts is superior because they are been controlled by the same Holy Spirit.
Paul, who boast as the chief speaker of tongues confessed that without love the gift is useless. So, everyone must be careful not to bastardize the gift of tongues. First Corinthians chapter 13 verse 1 says: “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.”
