ABSTRACT
Background: Education in university is very stressful and demanding especially in final years as students need to prepare fully for graduate on time and have competition in finding jobs for future. Life of students sometimes influence by various type of stressors, some stress improve student performance while some reduce the quality of life of students. Positive and good choice of coping strategies can help in managing stress while intake of alcohol or drugs can worsen the situations. Therefore, this research was designed to study the prevalence of perceived stress and coping strategies among final year degree students in Faculty of Health Sciences, UiTM Puncak Alam.

The target respondents were invited to complete the questionnaire and directed them to a brief explanation of the research. If a respondent volunteered to participate they were able to read the instructions and complete the questionnaire online from any internet-connected device. Contact details of the researcher were also provided in the initial description of the form should the respondent have any enquiry regarding the questionnaire. Data were collected on 23rd December 2015 from 8 a.m. until 8 a.am 24th December 2015. The length of time for data collection was considered ideal as it allowed a sufficient amount of time for interested respondent to participate in the study.

Even though students have been taking standardized test for decades, parents and educators are just now realizing that standardized testing could be harmful to students. Standardized testing has been a problem , causing controversy since the late 90’s and early 2000’s. Although standardized testing helps pinpoint weak spots and evaluate students progress, it can cause students to have mental health issues. Stress has been a top leading issue students have to face from standardized test for the past few years. Stress is a state of mental or emotional strain or tension resulting from adverse or very demanding circumstances.
If it is understood how parental incarceration affects children, adult imprisonment of these children may be preventable in the future. It is expected to observe a change in behavior or psychological health due to the absence of one or both parents. If a change is apparent, it would be useful to know if it was due to the incarceration or other factors. Despite the reason, the goal is to discover exactly how a parental incarceration affects the child’s future and whether or not they face a heightened risk of being incarcerated. Steven Salzberg takes a debatable position in “Get Football Out of Our Universities” by guarding reasons on why he considers football should not be prioritized over education. Although I am not a fan of football, I found Salzberg’s inflection and style to be arrogant and displeasing. To persuade his readers, his tone is solid in note to his dislike towards football players. I felt that for his writing to be an argumentative piece, he should have used more logic to support his argument. College football is very important to the lovers of football.
Total SSI .92 DISCUSSION One purpose of the present study was to analyze the ratings of the items (and categories) of the Student-life Stress Inventory for the total group of 336 participants. Several computations were reported. First, the internal consistencies for the nine categories of the SSI varied from .61 (Self-imposed) to .86 (Conflicts). In college, students experience a great deal of stress for the first time in their lives. In the past, they experienced little stresses that came with growing up, but now they experience stress from the real world and it can be overwhelming. The stress in college is more serious than any they had experienced prior because it is a time that will define the rest of their lives. For many, this is the first time getting a loan, the first time having to care for themselves, the first time studying for massive exams, and the first time that their decisions will affect the rest of their lives. The main types of stress college students experience are financial stress, parental stress, class stress, social stress, and self-invoked stress.

3. Review of literature 3.1 Stress and its types: Stress is an essential mediator of human behaviour. Immediate physiological response to any type of stressor facilitates survival of the species at its maximum. Despite of normal homeostatic regulatory mechanism, the stress responses can become maladaptive. Chronic stress, for example immobilization, exposure to noise, irradiations, psychological stress can leads to a host of adverse health consequences, including cardiovascular diseases, neurodegeneration, obesity, depression and early ageing (McEwen et al, 2004).
Stress is a ubiquitous part of everyday life. There is no way to avoid stress but you can learn to manage it. Stress can be caused through distinct ways and distinct reasons such as personal problems, social and job issues, post-traumatic stress and so on. You may have headache, feeling anxiety and depression, and easily irritated if did not handle stress well. Reduce stress in daily life is important to keep overall health since it will let you to have better frame of mind, enhance immunity and longevity so you can be more productive.
Thus, stressors affecting students can be categorized as academic, financial, time or health related, and self- imposed (Goodman, 1993). Academic stressors include the student’s perception of the extensive knowledge base required and the perception of an inadequate time to develop it ((Carveth et al, 1996). Students report experiencing academic stress at predictable times each semester with the greatest sources of academic stress resulting from taking and studying for exams, grade competition, andthe large amount of content to master in a small amount of time (Abouserie, 1994). College students have many obstacles to overcome in order to achieve their optimal academic performance. It takes a lot more than just studying to achieve a successful college career.
