Student ethics in the digital age
Students of all ages have been caught cheating, some students cheat on their papers and exams and some people cheat on their jobs. Cheating is to cover up a period of time and bypass a situation of reality. In reality life tends to become hard so students take the easier way out. Students cheat in hopes of having a better grade.
In some cultures around the globe students don’t see cheating has really cheating, they actually find it offensive if you call it that. They see it has helping one out and if you don’t help someone whos is need of help you are looked at has very selfish and being rude, in other words they see that you want others to fail. When international students come from around the world to the U.S they aim to to have high grades even on a exam they are likewise seen as cultural solidarity.

Many students use plagiarism in their tests because they want to keep the teachers and parents off their backs,when there grades are higher they tend to be treated with rewards instead of getting graded and can 't do what they wanted to do over the weekend. Students either cheat off of the individuals sitting besides them or they use there digital device to take pictures. The most recent way of plagiarism is by digital devices. Copying someone else 's work is very unfair. Kids do don 't understand how bad and dangerous it really is when they cheat. It could put your education in a position that you could be suspended or when you get your career you may not know what to do cause all you did was cheat yourself out of everything.
The rate for cheating in schools has rapidly increased all over the world. Cheating is an act that should not be done by students. In addition to no benefits, cheating will greatly harm themselves or other. The only way to stop cheating is for the students to believe in themselves. We need to seek the right education for these
Tommy Raskin in Cheating Students (2013) suggests that cheating isn’t an isolated problem, but an issue that comes about when a multitude of symptoms come together to ultimately make organic learning undesirable. The nature of cheating originates from the common misconception of helping others and a student’s lack of self-confidence. Plagiarism, not so different from cheating, disperses from the broad range of information on today’s technology. Through an authentic study, it has been revealed that teachers have established many students who have cheated their way through complexed assignments. Even misleading students who have kept a high grade point average has been found as participants of academic dishonesty. Today, professors seek to find different measures that should be taken to decrease cheating and plagiarism.
Cheating is nothing new to society. It has been seen over the years in schools and in life. Today, however, the cheating epidemic is out of control. In schools cheating is something that is looked down upon and seen as a huge issue to teachers and administration. There are multiple methods that have been used to stop this dishonest actions however, the honor code is the most well known. Many schools have unique versions of the honor code but, they all have the same goal. Cheating is a serious topic and should not be tolerated however some honor codes don’t do the best job in controlling the students. My school does not have a harsh and over the top honor code which is a good thing and should be maintained.
With consistent discussions and reminders of the consequences of cheating, it would become clearer to students both the repercussions of academic dishonesty, but also set an important social precedent around cheating. People presume that cheating/plagiarism is an okay thing to do because no one really informed it on them. Knowing the consequences will give people a reality check on life. The difference between people who cheat and people who don’t is their character. While they can be seen as just another set of rules to follow, there should be an academic honor code implemented in all schools. This honor code will help students in the long run , give students and teachers comfort , and keep people’s character in check .
