Technology’s Impact From stone tools and dueling in caves, to urban civilization and access to essential information with just the tips of our fingers, technology has not disappointed. There is no doubt that the tremendous advancement of technology has shaped the way we live and think. I mean, I grew up engaged with toys, while the kids today resort to mobile devices or video games for entertainment. Instead of just driving to the shopping center, we would have to walk, gather, and hunt. We would depend on our elders for valuable information, there would be no way to talk with others around the world, and when sickness emerged, where would the medicine be? Today, all the harsh obstructions are simply either too small, or non-existent. Now it is uncomplicated knowing where we are going via G.P.S. Who needs to walk when there are cars, planes, and boats? Talking to friends or family from other countries is a walk in the park. “Earlier on, you had to send a letter. The recipient had to wait for days and even months. Nowadays, people normally use text messages and emails to pass important messages to colleagues and relatives” (McArthur). Healthcare advancement has improved by a milestone, and millions of people all over the world are cured from disease and health risks every year because of modern medicine and diagnostics. “Medical discoveries occur at a much more rapid rate, thanks to machines and computers that aid in the research process and allow for more intense educational research into medical matters” (Belcher). Development of new drugs and treatments have also helped in curing the most challenging human diseases.
