Technology in Today's time In today's time, almost everyone you know has or uses some sort of technology whether it is for work or even for your own leisure benefits. Teenagers are spending approximately nine hours one their phone per day and kids ages 8-12 are spending around six hours using technology per day. In The Washington Post, Alfonzo Porter had written a post about technology in the classrooms and had essentially said that kids get distracted and lose concentration easily when using technology. Technology can completely change the way you act to others and communicate to others if not given at a responsible age. We use technology for communication to contact someone from a distance far away from where you are. Some forms of communication using technology are texting, email, phone calls, or maybe even social media and these forms of communication astray us from having face to face conversations. Rob Price, the UK managing partner of Atos says "Email has become the easy way to communicate but also the lazy way" (Price). In our generation, face to face conversations are pretty much nonexistent because texting, emails and phone calls are much faster and easier to start a conversation with. However, communication through technology can be very useful when needing an immediate answer from someone for an emergency, etc. If communication through all sorts of technology had shut down, then our generation would struggle severly to find a way to communicate to their families, or other important people in their lives who live far away from them.
