Malala used to live in Pakistan before she got shot in the head by the Taliban. Malala went to an all girls school in Swat Valley Pakistan. Her dad had owned that school for almost a decade. On October 9, 2012 on Malala’s way home from school just like any other ordinary day, she was on a school bus. When she was on the school bus the Taliban came up and shot her in the face because she was an activist about girls should have equal rights. For example, going to school, not being consider in the lower class. Malala was then transferred to a hospital in England, where she had to have surgery on her face. You may be asking what a teen activist is. A teen activist is a teen that is speaking up against something that is wrong. Malala has always stood up for her rights and spoke out if something was unjust but when she stood up to the Taliban they tried to take her voice away. The Taliban thought violence would take away her strength, but they were wrong. Malala was in the hospital for weeks and it took a long time for her to recover but once she did her voice became even louder than before. Malala was getting tons of attention and this caused her to become more well-known, and even more people got the chance to hear what she had to say.

Malala was a fifteen-year-old girl from Pakistan that believes in standing up for women’s rights. Malala was shot for standing up against the Taliban for suggesting that girls should be able to participate in school. Malala was then placed in an intensive care unit (ICU) and she remained there till she woke up from the coma. As Malala describes her life before being victimized it is noticeably obvious that she is confident in publically standing up against the Taliban for female education. What makes a teen activist different from other people? What makes a teen a teen activist? Teen activism is standing up for what you believe in. Malala stated “when the whole world becomes silent even one voice becomes powerful.” Teen activist are like heros.
But the most important one is they need to be hardworking. The first reason that teen activists need to be hardworking is that, they have to be able to raise hope for their cause. The “Malala Fund” is a great example of a hard working teen activist trying to change things to make them right. It claims “If one girl with an education can change the world, what can 130 million do?”
Malala stood up against the taliban, and demanded the right of education for girls. She has rallied the world in the fight to educate young girls, and children in general. But her greatest gift has been to demonstrate to everyone around the world, that it is possible to stand up against what is wrong. Malala has shown courage because she knew the risk it would take to advocate for the education of girls. Malala states, “ All I want is an education, and I am afraid of no one”.
She stood up for her rights and everyone else's too. Shot by the Taliban, Malala continues to campaign about educational rights. She has left her legacy as “The woman who stood up for girls’ education”. The early years of Malala’s life were very difficult and hard for her.
