Adolescent suicide is a pervasive problem which has many causes such as family life events, depression, family history, and abuse. In order to prevent suicide there has been tons of solutions such as, group counseling, psychiatric hospitals, family therapy, teen’s doctor, antidepressants, and parents been role model.
Suicide is the a major kill of adolescents today. It is the 3rd leading cause of death in all teens from ages 10 through 24. They are face with problems on a daily basis, which they are unable to deal with causing the teen to develop serious mental problems such as, depression or low self-esteem. Teens give verbal or behavioral clues to family members, and parents and friends should be alert of signs to prevent teen from committing …show more content…

The teen feels boredom, wanting to die, have lack of response to praise, difficulty concentrating, preoccupation with death and dying. Teens also have increase of physical complaints, like with emotional distress, stomach aches, headaches, and fatigue. They also plan or-efforts towards to commit suicide with verbal saying or thoughts.(website). They have major behavioral changes, for example, failing, lose interest in sports or other extracurricular activities, withdrawal from friends and family, eat or sleep much more or much less than normal. The teen no longer cares about personal appearance, also become more rebellious, angry, or violent. They go to risk-taking behavior, for example reckless driving, or drug and alcohol abuse.(worldbook). Feeling hopeless, anxiety. Other risk factors for suicide in teens. Teens have life events or changes in their family. Such as, divorce, moving to new community. Family history of suicide, violence, physical, sexual, emotional, or verbal abuse, changes in friendship, and they can have trouble at school.
