It was the summer of 2013, I went on a vacation to see my family in Mexico and to my unfortunate luck it was the worst summer ever! Not only did I got sick from eating food off the street stands and had to babysit my younger brother and take care of my mom as well, I was unfortunate enough to be hit by a drunk driver at a party. I should have known it wasn’t going to be a good year because before leaving we didn’t get plane tickets so we drove there, the car didn’t have a/c, and we got stuck in traffic twice. The ride alone was terrible for the most part; it’s summer and in Texas the weather was gruesome. I remember the first time we were in traffic in Louisiana I thought I was going to lose it, we made little progress in what would have been a two minute, one mile drive, it took us two hours to travel that one mile. At the end I wasn’t sure what had happen, was there a major accident or were the drivers being nosey causing the traffic? When everything was clear we had made it to Texas, by then it was six in the afternoon. We began to slow down again, which makes sense because at that time everyone is going home from work, so that was the problem in Texas. It was 110 degrees, we had to pull over because our …show more content…
I went to the annual festival, rode some rides, went to the soccer games, still didn’t buy food from the stands and made plans to go hiking on the mountain behind my house. Although, yet again, those plans were ruined. On July 17 there was a wedding downtown and I went with my family, we went to church and ate; they were serving the food with beer for those who wanted some. Unrelevant to mention the alcohol now, since the rest of the day was normal, however because people were drinking so early there were more drunk people than sober ones. I was headed to the store to buy something to eat when a friend of mine stopped me, we began to talk and have a good time, next thing I knew I was surrounded by people looking at
Today I’m going to be talking about my trip to Durango, Mexico. I live in Dacono, Colorado so the drive to Colorado to Durango takes two days. My grandparents and I, stay in Mexico for about two weeks and a half and we leave Friday morning like at 4:00am and we arrive to the border of El Paso, Texas like at 3:00pm. After we’ve arrived to Texas we make a pit stop to go use the restroom and to also eat because once we leave Texas and into Mexico, its going to be a long while before we get to eat and use the restroom again. Once we leave Texas and enter Mexico our second destination is Chihuahua, Mexico.
Texans political culture can be described as individualistic and traditional. Texans are proud of their state and they have started to take a stance on their phrase “don’t mess with Texas,” just to send a message to the people who even think of changing the way Texas works. Texas has a very low tax rate and it is all because of the distrust in the upscale government programs. The political culture of this state is influenced by business. Even the geography of the state plays a major role in the politics of the state as the large size of the state of Texas consists of flat lands in east Texas, arid climate in the west of Texas, and the central Texas’s hill country all represent a very diverse pattern of lands and the ecosystem.

Locations. My whole life has been a series of locations. My first 5 years were spent in Korea, the next 6 years in Pittsburgh, and then 5 years in Chicago. 3 major different locations in 16 years. Last year, second semester of my all-important junior year, I moved to Texas.
When observing the increasing presence and influence of minorities within Texas one can see how much of an impact these communities have had on the state of Texas by shaping it into a state filled with diversity, cultural roots, and innovation to grow the community. Texas Economy Through Time Texas economy throughout the ages has become quite famous for its ever changing status. When Texas was just a young state it did not have the economy that the other states at the time possessed but it did have potential which was picked up on starting out with the livestock and cattle industry. Texas went through a rapid expansion and quickly caught up with its statehood brethren. As time carried on so did the cattle industry of Texas. Soon farming and production of cotton sparked another economic shift for Texas, which caused demand to spike as other states could not keep up with the ability Texas had to produce its cotton.
At the airport my friend Eduardo, since elementary school, and the coach from my college, picked me up at the airport. On the way to the college I was asking questions about the college to my friend because he knew better than I the college and the baseball team. I remember my first question that I ask Eduardo was that if the temperature became more heated because by that time the temperature was cold, and he said “Yeah, the temperature is going to get heated in a couple of weeks”, and I said “I hope so because I don’t like cold temperature”. We spend an hour to get to Clarendon College, finally I arrived and unpack my clothes and get everything really for my first day at College.
If I could be anywhere right now I would choose to be on the beach in Florida. I would be in Fort Myers Beach, Florida because that is my favorite place to visit in Florida. When I visit Florida I enjoy laying around the pool and going to the beach. Florida is my ideal place for relaxation, it clears my head. I always have a hard time saying goodbye to Florida because I always have such a great time when I visit.
Candy wrappers were in the floor, old water bottles still in the cupholders, and jackets, basketballs, and bags piled in the back. It didn’t matter though because we were about to have the time of our lives. The first hour was boring as always. It was boring mostly because there was no new roads to drive or sights to see. It was along first hour, too.
When I was 14 I had to move to San Clemente, California. I had already recently moved temporarily to Texas while a house was made ready for us on the military base. “The house is ready!” my mother had said excitedly, after being on the phone for a few minutes. “It’s time to go back?”
Political culture establishes the backdrop against which politics unfold, it establishes the outer limits of what is possible, or even probable in the political realm. Texas political culture can be described as traditionalistic and individualistic. Texas traditionalist political culture believes in the values that policies are designed to preserve social order in the state, politicians come from society’s elite, and politicians have a family obligation to govern. While on the other hand, individualistic political culture believes that government should be limited when it comes to the lives of the public, individual rights of the citizens should be the main focus of a government rule, and a stronger support of personal politics rather than elitism. Texas also has a strong populism influence.
Over the Border Every year my family decides what to do for the holidays and where to go. Most of the time I have no say in it because my uncles insist on visiting or they invite us over. It doesn’t help that all of my family lives in Texas, California, and Mexico. This year has been the first time that we have spent Christmas and New Years here at home with just my family in a long time. Last year we took a long trip to Chihuahua, Mexico which is the biggest part/state of Mexico where my mother is from.
Last summer I went on vacation to Puerto Rico with my cousins. We did really fun things like snorkeling, a boat ride, and eating at many wonderful places. Although all those sound really fun, I want to talk about the time I met the most cutest, most fluffiest, most friendliest, animal ever. It all started off on a breezy summer night while my cousins and family were chillin’ at our hotel pool.
