Everyone lives their life differently, some things turn out to work out well for people well others struggle. Life throws lots of things at each individual, depending on how they are handled it can lead to a positive or negative impact on their life. Teenage pregnancy can begin with many negative topics and can become worse afterwards. In most cases these problems can be fixed but they are the reality of what occur when teen pregnancy happens. Teenagers brains are still developing and do not always make the best decisions. When under the influence of drugs or alcohol they might do things they regret. Also many cases of rape occur with teens which can lead to pregnancy. Finally teen pregnancy is associated with the financial loss of teen mothers. Teenage pregnancies are associated with increased rates of alcohol and drug abuse, rape and reduced earning from potential teen mothers. There is a greater chance of increased alcohol and drug abuse when a teen has a child, for both the mother and father. Such as teenagers becoming influenced with drugs and alcohol at a party or with a couple of friends. Many males try to take advantage of girls by raping them which could lead to teen pregnancy, these are the worst cases as the female had no consent for this to happen. Everyone needs to think wisely before making an action as just the smallest things can become very large. Teens today are also influenced by their peers on their actions. In the article “Peer Pressure” it says, “The term “peer pressure” refers to any type of influence that your friends may have over you. Many times, teens are influenced by their peers to do things that result in negative consequences. This is negative peer pressure. Specifically, negative peer pressure refers to activities such as using drugs, alcohol, or cigarettes; vandalizing property; using violence against others; having sex before you are ready or having unsafe sex; stealing; or driving drunk” (Feder).

It is easy for teens to come up with a reason as to why they began drinking because they have been asked so many times. Escobedo, Cherba, and Waweiler states, “Established patterns of alcohol use may play a major role in decision making that proceeds to drinking and driving among adolescents” (976). Therefore, drinking should not be for everyone if you don’t know the full consequences and don’t know how to maintain your liquor. Here are three main reasons why teens do alcohol or any other drug for that matter. Cristol states, “teens blame their parents for half of their reason for drinking, 29 % blame their peer group, 2.5 % blame the media, and 2% blame the alcohol industry”(15).

Teenagers are very different in personalities some teenagers like to get in trouble and some don’t think of what will happen next in their everyday lifestyle. Their was this book that i have read and it was about teenagers doing drugs and drinking and they were making careless mistakes and some of the teenagers will not do any of those things because they think of the consequences. Also some teenager will do a lot of things like not driving right making wrong turns and other things but they get over it and pick up from the beginning. Some people believe that teenagers are careless and don’t think about their consequences. Teenagers are careless in public and in school because they are in front of other people and try to do bad things and show off.
