(Bu Introduction: We can’t live without water, yet, unfortunately we are heading towards a water crisis. Water pollution is one of the most irritating problems that are causing nightmares and headaches to scientists around the world. It is commonly known as anything that could affect the water and leads to bad consequences, which prevents society from water benefits. Causes, effects and solutions of water pollution are the main topics that will be covered in this report. With sufficient thoughts about finding causes for water pollution, it is easy to come up with plenty of causes. However, industries, chemicals and municipals are the three major causes that have negative effects on water’s pollution. Causes Industry: Industrial water …show more content…
Generally, chemical waste occurs from other activities, such as industrial waste, which has been mentioned previously, agricultural work and petroleum in the picture of oil spills. Oil spills can affect the species living in the oceans, which will eventually be harmful to humans by eating them and may cause them serious diseases. On the other hand, chemical waste is divided into two categories, organic and inorganic substances. Slaughter houses remnants and meat canning factories are examples of organic pollutants, mercury is one example of inorganic pollutants where it is being increased in concentration by battery manufactures and paper mills, which will lead to harmful consequences and threatens the lives of many human beings by poisoning the water. Municipal: The last cause of water pollution is the municipal. Although it is not as important as the previous two causes, but it is a must to put it under the spotlights in order to educate the people. Homes and commercial establishments are the reasons why the municipal is related to waste water. Decreasing the harmful bacteria from wastewater is the main aim for the municipal. After highlighting the major causes of water pollution, microbiological, groundwater, oxygen depletion and nutrients is a brief list of some other causes of this issue maybe the appropriate way to end up this
Dioxins are primarily by-products or residues from thermal industrial processes (combustion) that involve chlorine, but they can also occur during natural phenomena such as volcanic eruptions or forest fires. They are undesirable byproducts in a large number of manufacturing processes, such as melting, chlorine bleaching of pulp, and the production of certain herbicides and pesticides. In terms of emissions, it is considered that most of the dioxin released into the environment comes from uncontrolled waste incinerators (solid waste and hospital waste), which are the biggest culprits, with incomplete combustion. There are also large stocks of used industrial oils throughout the world whose longterm preservation and elimination of these materials
The local community does not care that dumping toxic waste, sewage, and runoffs affect marine life. People everywhere dispose of their toxic materials such as household, agriculture, and oil waste in the wrong way, and eventually it leads to pollution in the ocean. Toxic products in households are very harmful to the ocean if they are disposed of in the wrong way. Household materials such as chemical-based cleaning and disinfecting products, once put down the drain, go straight to the ocean, and pollute the water. Non- degradable products that are put down drains can damage sewage treatment processes, and contaminate nearby bodies of water.
Through industry and the use of man-made chemicals, the human population has managed to make water pollution into a serious problem that our planet is currently facing. To stop the advancing of water population and salvage the clean water we have for future consumption, the greater humankind needs to embrace education and
One big source of water pollution is mining. To remove gold from mud, gold miners use mercury. The gold and mercury is then heated to burn off the non-biodegradable mercury which is released into the air and eventually falls on land and is washed into the
Pollution is happening in the world, and it starts with water. “The pollution entering our waterways comes from many sources: radioactive wastes from reactors, laboratories, and hospitals; fallout from nuclear explosions; domestic wastes from cities and towns; chemical wastes from factories” (Carson 39). There is evidence of chemicals being in streams and public water supplies. For example, scientists used a sample of water from an orchard area in Pennsylvania and tested it on the fish. The water contained so much insecticide that it killed the test fish in only four hours.
Intro: Water pollution has caused so many problems to our waterways that no one really knows how to help. Water pollution caused; dead zones, oil spills, garbage floating around, and unsafe drinking water. People disagree about water pollution because, people have found ways to improve and help out the problem that water pollution has caused around the world. Others believe that that water pollution has created situations and are in the process of figuring out solutions. Marine life habitats are getting destroyed, marine life is declining everyday, how and where the garbage is getting into the oceans, and the drinking water is becoming seriously unsafe to drink.
Substances affects people and animals through the oxygen we breathe because this production releases chemicals that are very harmful to health. On 2010, an oil spill occurred in the Gulf of Mexico. this event
Big Data in Ocean Pollution Analysis Abstract Ocean pollution analysis is entering into big data era with the exponential growth of information technology and increase in the possible sources of ocean water contaminant as well as advancement in ocean observation techniques. The data collected by the various ocean observation and water analysis platforms answer a range of important research question which are crucial in reducing ocean pollution. Given the huge and diverse types of data, sustained measurement and the potential use of the collected data, ocean pollution can be analyze by big data theory. Marine pollution occurs when chemicals, particles, residual agricultural wastes, residential waste and invasive organisms find their way into ocean either through land run off or through point source into the water sources.
Water pollution is a serious issue as not only is water the most precious natural resource, but all sources of water support life that is very necessary for the survival of the planet. Water pollution destroys life and ecology and such damage is irreparable. Those who are still not serious about water pollution must also remember that the pollutants present in water not only destroy the life in the rivers and oceans, but also affect our food chain. Many people have the wrong notion that since they are not disposing the pollutants in the water they are not to blame. These people forget that 70% of the earth is covered by water, and any activity on the land can wash to the seas and oceans.
• Pollution: Pollution of air, water and soil require millions of years to recoup. Industry and motor vehicles exhaust are the number one pollutants. Heavy Metals, nitrates and plastic are toxins for pollution. While water pollution is caused by oil spill, acid rain, urban runoff; air pollution is caused by various gases and toxins
They gut polluted water into some river from some factory, due to global warming, etc. (The Importance of Clean Water) Well, water pollution affect the condition for human life and quality of living by when drinking polluted water, polluted water come into your body, and global warming. Global warming hear like kind of air pollution but Water pollution
LITERATURE REVIEW What is water pollution? As the country is becoming more and more populated, the demands for social services have increased significantly. This has led to an increase of the pollution in many developing towns such as Ga-kgapane. The most disturbing and problematic forms of pollution in Ga-kgapane is the pollution of the natural streams. Water pollution is when there is a build of one or more substances in water to such an extent that it causes problems for animals or plants.
A form of pollution where there is a sudden release of liquid petroleum hydrocarbon into the environment is called an oil spill. Mostly, oil spills are due to releases of crude oil from tankers, offshore platforms, as well as drilling rigs. Moreover, oil spills could result in devastating consequences economically, environmentally, and socially. As a result, oil spills brings forth political uproar, concerns of government responses, and ideas to clean and prevent oil spills (Broekema). Environmentally speaking, oil spills are extremely harmful to the environment.
Water pollution is any chemical, physical or biological change in the quality of water that has a harmful effect on any living thing that drinks or uses or lives in it. When humans drink polluted water it often has serious effects on their health. Water pollution can also make water unsuited for the desired use. Usually water pollution is caused by the waste from sewage, and factories. Water pollution is a serious problem for agriculture and food security, because to grow crops we need water, but when the water is polluted the crops die, or get infection.
Water is the most important component found on the surface of the earth because it is source of life for living creatures. However, water pollution has become a global concern. Water pollution can have several forms from diverse sources. It is expected that there will be a lack of clean water in next few decades due to pollution. Nile river water in Egypt is the focus of attention of many studies due to many reasons.
