What if you could change what happens tomorrow? In A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, Scrooge has been haunted by his dead business partner, Marley. His life will be changed forever with the help of three different spirits who take him to his past, present, and future; from his money-loving life to a charitable one. The spirit who helped Scrooge change the most is The Ghost of Christmas Present because he helped Scrooge to to care about others, celebrate Christmas, and learn empathy. First of all, Scrooge starts to care about others.

In this story scrooge was visited by three spirits. His old friend Jacob came to visit him to tell him how greedy and mean he was . In the movie, "A Christmas Carol", when the first spirit from the past came to scrooge house at 3:00 in the morning and told him to take his hand and they flew to his old town to see what he was as a young man. Then scrooge thought that he could talk to people from the past but he couldn't, because they were dead and gone from being greedy and selfish. That was why the spirit of the past took him there to teach him a lesson.

When Past come to see him she takes him to a Christmas that passed by when he was a small boy. In the scene a little Scrooge is sitting by himself neglected by his friends. The boy, solitary lives inside his head. After Present comes and shows Scrooge two places he takes him to his nephew’s house where he and someone is talking and having a good time. Future comes and shows Scrooge people that are selling some things to someone for money they are all talking of the wretched man he was.
The ghost of Christmas past, present, and future(Dickens 9,10). As Marly leaves and the ghost of christmas past comes, Scrooge at first is very frightened. The ghost then tells scrooge to touch her robe and they magically travel to the old past when they see Scrooge as a young school boy where they can see how Ebenezer’s father really hated him because his wife died giving birth to him. Now Scrooge’s dad blames him for it(Dickens 13,14,15). The spirit next takes him to his teenage years where scrooge sees himself as a young happy and poor boy at a dance party with his long time girlfriend.

At the beginning of A Christmas Carol,Scrooge is mean,selfish,and greedy. He is mean, because on pg.9, he never donates to the poor,and he always yells at little kids. Scrooge is also selfish because on pg.12, he never pays a day wages for no work. They say “it's a poor excuse for picking a man’s pocket every twenty-fifth of december!”Also,another word is he is greedy,on pg.17, says he is caustic and cold as ever and never gave anything to anyone. He said “what do you want with me.
Christmas Carol is an ancient story and movie. The novel and cinema are based on the same main idea ,a man named scrooge changing is awareness about Christmas. Although they have some diversities ,they still have the same essence. The movie creates alarming perception and curiosity. The Christmas Carol book and film have comparable pictures while reading ,also inspecting them.
In the first stave of Christmas Carol I think a theme is hate. Scrooge obviously doesn’t like Christmas, but dislikes those who even talk about it. When his nephew came in he said “merry christmas uncle Scrooge and may God save you!” This quote was on page 3. His nephew, obviously tries to get along with his uncle, but Scrooge refuses to cooperate.
