“The Sixth Seal” by Mary Wesley was not a good book. I could not stay focused or get into the book. I am going to critique the story and tell you what I didn 't not enjoy. I did not enjoy the lack of good detail, there was also not a good plot and most of all I did not enjoy the format it was written in. I am going to critique the story “The Sixth Seal” by Mary Wesley. “The Sixth Seal” had a lack of detail. The main character named Muriel was never truly described. The whole story the only thing you you really about her is that she is a 45 year old woman with brown hair. You never learn anything else about the other two main characters too. all you hear is their age and hair color. I wish the story would have gone into more detail about the …show more content…
There were interesting events taking place, but those events were so badly written and were in such a bad order that I did not enjoy them. Mary Wesley is a world renowned writer and I have read another one over her stories and it was full of detail and I truly enjoyed it. This story on the other hand was lacking a well written format. If I had written the story it would have been in one day to another format. I also would have added lots of detail and happy and sad moments. Most of all I would have made a true conflict with a real character. “The Sixth Seal” by Mary Wesley was not well written or in any specific format. If you had the choice of reading a well written book or a poor written book which would you choose? I personally think that is an easy decision. I struggled while reading “The Sixth Seal” by Mary Wesley and would not read it again. “The Sixth Seal” by Mary Wesley lacked detail, did not have a well written plot and most of all was not written in a good format. If you struggle while you read a story it is harder to read and you will not enjoy it. I am not planning on reading the “The Sixth
In part six, I thought there was a lot of good information spread out in all of the chapters. The biggest thing that stood out to me were in chapter 25. I enjoyed the first sections that were expressed. I enjoyed the idea about how Jesus recruits heroes to join him in critiquing theocapitalism. I think this means that he reaches out to people who are going to attempt to make the kingdom grow.
The only thing I didn 't like about the book was how it was written. I think it would be way better if it was written as a story in 1st person about there life and not how it was written. The book didn 't really make me think differently about things because I know what I think about slavery and no one can change my mind
This book was interesting for me because it allowed me to relate to a character. I love reading novels that not only allow me to feel a connection with a character, but allow me to relate to their personality or
I live a life of considerable privilege. I am a white, upper middle class, straight, young adult, living a comfortable life. I have learned to recognize these facts, and thought I understood the meaning of my privilege; until I read this novel. The Other Wes Moore gave me a new perspective on the meaning of ‘privilege,’ and how it affects the workings of our society. This novel really opened my eyes to some of the troubles in this world, and how everyone has a story that isn’t seen on the surface.
It shows self sacrifice for a greater cause, Bob is willing to be trapped in Tartarus to save Percy and Annabeth. Bob is willing to be trapped for eternity to save his friends. Hazel stands up against an immortal Pasiphae and defeats her because of her training and hard work. And Nico kept his promise to Percy it was not easy, Nico put his life on the line many times to keep his promise. Sometimes a book can have a bad first appearance but give it a chance.
Based on a true event mixed with some fiction "Who Killed Christopher Goodman" written by Allan Wolf is based on a murder. Christopher Goodman the new kid from California that everyone likes, yet was murdered the night of Deadwood Days. The book is set to be late summer in a Virginia town in the year of 1979, everyone was excited for the upcoming Deadwood Days, but who would have thought that the night of the first day a high schooler would get murdered. Days before Deadwood Days Christopher moved into town and got to know Doc Chestnut, Squid Kaplan, Hunger McCoy, Hazel Turner, and Mildred Penny, he impacted each of the characters life one way or another. Goodman was the nice kid, even though he was a bit strange, he wore some crazy bell bottoms and would love to say the word "ennui", also he was always willing to lend a hand to whoever needed it.
The Nightjohn movie was very different from the book. One reason that it was so different is because of how much the Wallers are talked about. In the book they only talk about the Wallers when slaves are being punished. In the movie, they were shown much more. The Wallers don’t have kids in the book.
One part in the book is when George finds out there is a mummy on the ship. The mummy turns out to just be a cat, but people in real life did believe that Princess of Amen-Ra was on the ship, but this theory is untrue. Other than that, the book is very
Overall the book is fairly slow, slightly good plot, and several underdeveloped
the second half of the story the plot digresses from that and becomes more about trying to bust the coach for his wrong doings. It left me scratching my head as to why, when, where and how something happened far too often. Although the plot is a bit convoluted at times it is fairly good as a whole. I feel this book has a fairly sub-par plot and supporting characters but the great protagonist is what is keeping this book afloat. Without him this book would not have been a below average book
The book, “Celia, A Slave,” is a true story written by Melton A. McLaurin and published by the University of Georgia Press in 1991. McLaurin was an educator at the University of South Alabama where he served several years as Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs before retiring. He is known for writing several articles and books about the American South and race relations. He wrote this book specifically about slavery and how women and men or blacks and whites were divided. Whites were superior in the United States.
Over the summer I read about a person who was a really good track star and served in World War II. Written by Laura Hillenbrand, Unbroken is a non-fiction World War II story about a young man named Louis Zamperini. The story takes place in the pacific islands and Japan during World War II Louis grew up as a restless and naughty boy, but then became a good and famous track star before getting drafted into the second world war. Louis faces the challenge of surviving on his own and enduring cruelty against Japanese leaders as a prisoner of war. One day in 1943, an Army Air Force Bomber crashes into the Pacific Ocean, leaving Louis and some of his crew trapped in the Pacific.
There were a lot of themes that I picked up. Kit was a very brave and courageous character and everyone had a lot of loyalty. In conclusion, I would recommend this book. I thought it was pretty
There was so much content and information that I had never even heard of until reading this book. It makes me think just how much other history has been stolen and not told rightly. All this time, I just assumed the rightful story was the one portrayed in the Disney movie. That sounds funny to type out, and quite ignorant. Finding out that she never married John Smith was eye opening for me.
Although the story may be a bit too complicated it tells a story that can be true and that can actually happen in real life. This story may also have a dark side too it. Anna Cayne did some things that we unforgiveable. She was basically a psychopath in the story.
