A mother and her child will always have a special connection, depending on situations. Many people are willing to put up the biggest fight to share moments with their mother, many are willing to change filthy habits to keep relationships. In the novel, Enrique’s Journey by Sonia Nozario, a man puts his life to the test by making a trip from Central America to the United States on foot to find his mother, Lourdes. Surviving the impossible, he is reunited, but is confronted by many conflicts with Lourdes . Leaving behind a girlfriend and a child was a large step, bad habits were formed for a second time after arriving in the States, causing Enrique to want to return back to Honduras.
Another illustration of overcoming adversity is when they think that their grandmother doesn't want them to stay,after their first night of being there, and they overcome that adversity by working hard and doing work in order for their grandmother to let them stay. The final showing of the theme of family in Homecoming is when their grandmother rips up the letter to Cousin Eunice and let them stay. This showed great family because even though they're grandmother couldn't afford them, she still let them

Family is a complicated thing. It shapes us in so many ways, the patterns I was able to see on my genogram were interesting. The women on my mother’s side of the family have dealt with depression for generations. I only heard stories but my mother’s grandmother on her mother’s side was a cold and numb woman, especially cold mother, no affection was giving towards my grandmother which laid the foundation for how my grandmother would raise my mother and her two sisters, which eventually trickle down to me and how I handled the responsibility of motherhood.
Mary Wollstonecraft was a key component in the movement of rights for women. Her philosophies on equality were a precursor for women around the world who would join together and fight back against the injustice they faced due to their gender. Wollstonecraft promoted her ideals during the middle of the 18th century at a point in time where rights for women were non-existent and she lived her whole life without any true rights of her own. Years after her death, her values were continued by women who were trying to gain the right the vote. The fight for the rights of women has continued since then and still continues in modern feminist movements.

Although she achieved her commitment, she feels like she will lose the only thing that she started to love “Nick” the Choufer. “The fact is that I no longer want to leave, escape, cross the border to freedom. I want to be here, with Nick, where I can get at him”.
Life is short, people always told about it, what it means.”O Lord, what happen to me, why you give it to me. Take this cup of suffering away from me.” She could not bear this darkness anymore.
