Certain animals are hunted for their fur or maybe even their teeth. Poaching is also a main reason for the death of animals. Poaching is to illegally hunt or catch animals. Illegal trade is the trade of wildlife (living or dead). Bengal Tigers and African Elephants are being killed and taking from their natural habitat, which contributes to the great problem of endangerment and then extinction.
The African Elephant is a very interesting species in the way they survive while constantly being hunted. Some of the main places these creatures thrive in are Congo Basin and Coastal East Africa. The herds wander around 37 African countries. Their population is roughly 415,000 in the wild (worldwildlife.org). A few facts about the elephant are their large ears are used for allowing them to radiate excess heat. Their tusks are the front teeth that never stop growing throughout their life. They weigh 6 tons and can be up to 13 feet tall if a male, female can be as tall as 8.5 feet. They can live to be over 70 years old. People hunt tigers for a few reasons but the main reason is to get their fur. Also, when a tiger is very hungry because it has not had a successful hunt in a day, it may go into a village. It could be a pet from the villagers or rarely even a child. The villagers would hunt down the tiger and kill it for revenge. Also. The food that tigers hunt is the food that the towns eat. This takes away their chance of getting food. So they are forced to take the tigers food and leave it to starve. Just like the African Elephants, the humans may go into their natural habitat and try to build there. In that, they could try to kill the people invading them. While doing that, they may kill the tiger which will anger more tigers and it will be a chain until they finally leave the territory
