Firstly, the stereotype that people who do bad things are supposedly evil and scary is shown through the characters, Tom Robinson and Boo Radley. Tom Robinson is seen as an evil and scary person because he is accused for raping and assaulting Mayella Ewell. Tom Robinson is hated by a majority of the white people in Maycomb except for a white lawyer who is ready to stand up for someone who is innocent. Later on in the novel, Tom Robinson ends up committing suicide himself because he did not want to be put in prison for something he did not do.
The children corrupt the system; they take over the reigns and twist the perceptions of their people until they became the ones in control. With a deadly mix of radicalism and hysteria, the once-peaceful village became a nightmare for those who didn 't fit the perfect Puritanical mold. John Proctor is given a disproportionately punishment to his crime — yes, he commits lechery. Yes, he lies to his community about the affair with Abigail Williams. No individual, however, deserves the suffering these accused witches are forced to experience.
174) As, a result of the situation at his party Bernard is humiliated and alone. This causes the conflict to return to his old ways. (pg.175-176) Helmholtz was in trouble with the authorities due to the fact that he was reading unorthodox rhymes to his college students. (pg.177) Bernard is jealous of Helmholtz and John's closeness in Chapter 12. He takes soma out of vengeance.
They are what is considered "poor white trash". The only lower class in the town were the African American people living in the town. This ties in to racial discrimination that leads to unfair society because tom Robinson is a black man that is accused of raping Mayella Ewell even though evidence contradicts he ever committed the crime. He was found guilty due to the fact he is a black man and it’s his word against a white man’s word this is an unfair society because the people of Maycomb county had to side with the Ewells even though Tom Robinson is innocent because the Ewells are white. Furthermore, this ties in with the quote that jack said “The jury couldn’t possibly be expected to take Tom Robinsons word over the Ewells” (Lee.
In Gacy’s early life he was the victim of his father’s scorn being beaten constantly by his father with a razor strop. A couple instances know would be when he stole a truck when he was 6 and his father beat him for it, one other told instance of abuse was when John and another boy were accused of molesting a little girl where his father again beat him with his trusty strop. However it wasn’t just physical abuse he was given his father also emotionally abused him calling him a failure telling him he was dumb and stupid. Gacy was an ill boy born with a heart defect leading him to be hospitalized most of his life from ages 14 to 18, where his father accused him of faking everything. The abuse was so bad that when Gacy was molested by a family friend he suffered in silence.
The saddening thing is, that the whole scenario started because Mayella attempted to seduce Tom, and her father found out. Filled with rage, Mr. Ewell beat his daughter, he found it unacceptable that his daughter fancied a black man. Then, he claimed that Tom raped his daughter to cover everything up. There are even cases such as Tom’s happening to this day, such as the case of Miguel Angel Peña Rodriguez Vs. Colorado. The jury was corrupted by bias thoughts which resulted in an unfair trial.
He kidnapped Richards and made him feel like he was anything, but a human being. Matt was possessed with the guilt of not being there for Frank and felt sorry for his wife having to constantly see Richards around the town. “He walks the goddamn streets”(Dubus,63). Matt suffered through many conflicts and finally decided to pop the bubble of problems by killing Richards. This act of Matt taking law into his own hands explores both the ideas of justice and revenge.
The unjust treatment that the creature received from humankind was harsh and unreasonable as he wasn’t allowed the opportunity to prove his intentions were far from malicious. His loneliness, isolation and injustice from those he tried to befriend turned him into an actual monster, evidently his perspective and personality changed after being excluded. The monster had been treated unfairly by humanity “I desired love and fellowship and I was spurned. Was there no injustice in this? … Am I to be thought the only criminal when all human kind sinned against me?” (Ch.8) and without the acceptance he yearned for, he became bitter and resentful, acting out ruthlessly.
they were drowning you, pony they might have killed you and they had a blade…”.This proves my thesis because since bob was the leader from the socials he was the main target because bob beat up Johnny and he wanted revenge and Socs where their main rival and their conflict. In colclusion S.E Hinton writes that there's always a conflict with socials that they never get along because of their social status and she also wrote that johnny was jumped by t=bob and he kills bob because of
Dill cries when this happens because he realizes how biased the court system is. Tom Robinson is pronounced guilty. Despite all the true evidence saying that he is innocent, the jury convicts him because they have the racist mentality of the town. Jem starts crying too because he is ashamed that people would let something so unfair happen. Even Atticus explains to the children that although it is unfair, racism is a way of life.
Monica wanted to come clean because she heard of a story about a boy who committed suicide because he kissed another boy. She knew the feeling of being shamed and wanted to commit self harm over something that was turned on her. Bill should have been the one in trouble and got all the attention for cheating on his wife. So out of all of this i feel like Bill Clinton was one of the worst presidents to ever take office. As you can tell by all of these scandals and him even getting impeached.
