A hero is a villain in the eyes of someone else. This implies that even though someone may be a villain to you, they are a hero in some else's eyes. This applies to both Tom Robinson from To Kill a Mockingbird written by Harper Lee and Victor from Cracked written by K.M Walton. Victor and Tom are both be hated by the people they live with. In Toms case, he is being hated by his small town. In Victors case he is being hated by his parents and kids at school. Tom is hated because he raped a girl cursed and told her she was wrong while testifying. Victor is hated because he ruins the family name by, being beat up then throwing up, getting an almost but not perfect score on the SATs and ruining his mom and dads vacation by trying to kill himself when they left him home alone. Overall Tom and Victor are villains in the eyes of the people they live with.
First of all, Tom Robinson in a villain in the eyes of the town. At first Tom is accused of raping Mayella Ewull. In present day New York this would be a terrible thing to do and, back then it was terrible also. The level of evil is brung up because Tom was black and Mayella was white. After he was accused the trail made him look even worse. In the 1930s in Alabama it was illegal for a black man to tell a white woman she is wrong. During the trail he is trying to tell the jury that she

Tom Robinson is accused of raping a white woman, cursing at her and saying she was wrong on the stand. Victor is villainous because he is a disgrace to the family name by throwing up at school, gets beat up, gets an almost but not perfect score on the SAT's and try's to kill himself while his parents are on vacation, ruining their vacation. Most people are a villain at only one point in their life's. Sometimes they get away with it and sometimes they don't. Aaron Eckhart once said "You either die a hero or live long enough to become the
This was around the time when the Jim Crow Laws were still intact and black people were not still considered people and they would still lynch black people. If a black man was accused of any crime involving a white person the jury would take the white man's word over the black man’s word. These exact things
A hero is someone who puts others before themselves. Heroic acts can range from small gestures or actions such as saving countless lives. Heroes are known for their outstanding achievements and selflessness. Welles Crowther was a hero because he put other people's lives ahead of his own and sacrificed his life for others.. As Welles was growing up, he had an interest in helping people.
Recently, a negro named Tom Robinson has been jailed for supposedly raping a white woman, whose name is Mayella Violet Ewell. This is certainly biased since the family of Mayella did not provide any fact or evidence, rather only one witness who could have easily lied. Therefore, Tom Robinson could have been falsely accused of doing something a man like himself wouldn’t do. There are several reasons that suggest that Tom Robinson is innocent.
Classic western films dominated the screen in the 1960s, with major productions such as The Good, The Bad and the Ugly (1966) and Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) directed by Sergio Leone, The Magnificent Seven (1960) directed by John Sturges, and what is considered a well-known western produced in this area, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962) directed by John Ford and starring John Wayne and James Stewart as the main characters. While The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance meets all the criteria to classify it as a classic western, that being set in a culture structured around codes of honor and personal justice and gunslingers in every scene of the movie, the film lacks many characteristics to classify it as a well-rounded film. Set in the late 1800s, a senator by the name of Ransom Stoddard visits this town in the middle of nowhere with his wife to attend the funeral of one of his old friends Tom Doniphan. Many question the reasoning for the appearance of Ransom because not many know who Tom Doniphan was. With the local newspaper harassing him for answers as to who Tom Doniphan was, Ransom gives in and tells the tale through the use of flashbacks.
Tom Robinson is unfairly persecuted because his skin is darker than the skin of his neighbors. Robinson is not given a fair trial. Later in the book, an angry mob shows up at the jail, trying to kill him. These strangers acted without knowing if Robinson was guilty or not. Their prejudice, racism, and hate nearly leads them to murder.
Despite racial inequalities in the South, Atticus sticks to his own morals and agrees to be the defending lawyer for Tom Robinson, a black man being accused of raping a white woman. Although Atticus’ defense in court was thorough and clearly proved Tom’s innocence, the jury was prejudiced towards black folks and convicted Tom as guilty. Nonetheless, Atticus is still a hero despite losing the case. He has the courage to stand up for what he believes in, fights with reason rather than guns, and has utmost determination, making him a hero despite being just an average human being. Ultimately, his thoughts and actions set the stage for major changes in the meaning of equality throughout Maycomb County, changing lives of numerous people.
Tom Robinson is a black man who is wrongfully convicted of raping a white girl, Mayella Ewell. This novel goes through Scout's life from when she was 6, till she is 9. She lives in the town of Maycomb Alabama, and lives an innocent life until about halfway through the story, where she begins to ask questions. In To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, Scout shows the readers that racial inequality creates an unjust society through the African American community, through the people surrounding colored folks, and through Tom Robinson’s Case. The first example of the consequences of racial inequality is the African American community in Maycomb.
In the novel To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee, the story is set in the 1900’s, Maycomb, Alabama. During this time there was racism in the south and segregation which separated the whites and blacks from everything. There was also the Great Depression, the whole country was poor and people living in the country had to trade and do other jobs for people to either pay them off or to buy something from them. The trial in this book is about Mayella and Bob Ewell, two white people, claiming and arguing that Tom Robinson, a black person, raped Mayella Ewell. This trial is really important because at that time in the south, white people took advantage of black people and their kindness and thought they would take that or shut up just because they were black.
You Can’t Teach an Old Dog New Tricks Tim Johnson was a recognizable dog in Maycomb County, Alabama. Tim Johnson was regarded as “The pet of Maycomb county”(105). This title is very interesting. This means Tim Johnson is the mascot for the people of Maycomb. Tim Johnson’s owner was Mr. Harry Johnson.
“A true hero isn’t measured by the size of their strength, but by the strength of their heart.” A hero is a person that does something to help or they can also save someone 's life. One example of, being a hero is Darry because he takes care of Ponyboy and Sodapop. Another example, of being a hero is Johnny when he saved Ponyboy and the little kids. A further example, of being a hero is Ponyboy when he also saved the little kid’s life and when he wanted to take the blame for killing Bob.
In To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee uses characterization, symbolism, and irony to express the cloud in judgment prejudice causes when examining the morals of others. Scout is able to understand more about the town folk in Maycomb County through studying her teacher’s ironic and corrupted views of life around her. Lee uses Miss Gates, Scout’s teacher, to allow Scout a chance to understand the complexity of the adult world. While teaching the class about the Holocaust, Gates expresses the injustice being done to the Jews. She teaches the children that the town does not “believe in persecuting anybody” (Lee 329) because of the U.S. democratic government.
A hero is a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements or noble qualities (Hero). A Villain is a person who has evil actions or motives to harm people (Villain). In my opinion, a hero is usually the person in the story that everyone likes or looks to for help and the villain is the misunderstood or worst person in a situation. As humans we can be portrayed as a hero or villain when diverse situations occur. In August Wilson’s play, “Fences” Troy Maxson’s past, present and future caused significant traits of being called a hero and a villain in segments throughout the play.
In a trial the closing argument is the most critical addresses made in court. Generally an emotional plea, this closing argument can be the deciding factor to a court case. To Kill a Mockingbird is a 1962 film based on the award-winning novel written by Harper Lee. During an era of racial inequality, lawyer, Atticus Finch, contravenes the unwritten social code to defend a black man against an underserved rape charge. In a racially charged atmosphere, “white trash” Mayella Ewell ignores the morality and conventions of the community, and makes a sexual advance on Tom Robinson.
A hero is one who is loyal to the one they follow. Just as
“A true hero would not be promoting violence, witchcraft, and evil,” stated DeMitchell. This argument could be used against Jay Gatsby too. A true hero wouldn’t use illegal ways to get to his end goal. This is why this type of hero exists. The Anti/Un-Hero is a hero that just doesn’t quite fit with the other types of heroes.
