Road safety are means and a system used to make life on the road safer. By us using the road daily, we have to ensure the road is harmless to everyone whether in terms of vehicle collision, soil erosion, unstable ground or even the death of people and moreover. The roads are extremely crowded in today’s world, having this many vehicles and people it’s vital to keep everyone safe and sound from harm. Statistically showing, “there are more than 1.2 million people that die in road traffic crashes every year” (World Health Organization).This indicates that road safety is problematic even with today’s technology and ideas showing its imperative to take action. Physics involves a lot in the way the traffic works.
We have used the Arduino technology, DAQ cards, RIO board, sensors and pneumatics to create a system which is used to avert accidents while trying to overtake in a two way road. The pneumatic system is used for auto-braking and steering locks which are the safety system which we have introduced in our system.
In addition, following the traffic reports and maintaining the schedules of certain institutions will definitely reduce the emergence of traffic jam. In brief, traffic jam is caused by human, and is not impossible to solve as long as the solutions are effectively conduction by all elements related to the traffic
On average, new models of cars provide their drivers with protection from injury. However, it is determined by the range of factors including vehicle condition, road environment and driver behavior (http://www.safercar.gov). It is the primary concern of all that safety measures are analyzed whether to buy for new or the used vehicles. 1.0 INTRODUCTION Drive safe is defined as measures and methods for reducing the risk of a person using the road for being killed or seriously injured. The users of a road include passengers, pedestrians, motorists, cyclists and passengers of on-road public. Nowadays, all kinds of road accident keep increasing day by day. The number of people who lose their lives on roads each year remains much too high due to careless while driving on road. Besides that, drivers must have a lot of maturity in order to accept the enormous responsibility of having a license.
According to Gottdiener and Hutchison (2000), many suburban communities have areas that become treacherous for pedestrians because of the emergent patterns of traffic flow. The traffic growth associated with this and increased aspiration toward motorization has meant worsening travel and environmental conditions for the population. (Hickman, Fremer, Breithaupt, & Saxena, 2011) In addition, transports in Asian cities continue to face difficulty in policy, planning, and implementation. The Philippines ranked 9th in the latest traffic index; in terms of road congestion. (Diola, 2015) The average travel time of most commuters increased drastically over the years.
Traffic jams in the world today is one of the biggest concerns. Traffics jams might even lead to death of people in case of serious situations. Not only ambulance but the other emergency vehicles like Fire Brigade trucks and Police cars tend to get stuck in jams. These different emergency vehicles which get delayed due to traffic jams might result in loss of many lives [1]. With the help of our system all the red traffic light signals will be turned to green in order to provide a clear way for the emergency vehicles.
There is a reason why popular novelist Dan Brown – author of ‘The Da Vinci Code’ and ‘Angels and Demons’ – mentioned Metro Manila’s monumental traffic jams in his book ‘Inferno’ (Flat Planet, 2014). Traffic congestion is prevalent primarily in the cities. The main avenues of cities and even the secondary roads are often congested, and the problems of traffic congestion have become so stern that the economy is pretentious. While total reduction of congestion is next to impossible in the Philippines, unswerving and staid efforts to improve transportation infrastructure for Metro Manila including much delayed mass transport systems can translate to indisputable benefits. Many studies have been indited on the economic costs of congested traffic, and they customarily consider such factors such as cost of traffic value of time lost due to delay, fuel prices, conveyance operating costs, effects on health, and greenhouse gas emissions (Traffic Problems in the Philippines and Proposed Solutions, 2014).
These sensors send a signal which is replicated back on meeting an obstacle near the vehicle, and bumper uses the radar to monitor the obstacle’s position. The car will detect the parking space and distance then park the car into the detected place. 7. Viewing all the data the researchers have gathered, the solutions to cure the illness with regards to transportation & traffic problems and poor waste management in the three biggest cities in Metropolitan Manila and the MMDA shows no clear positive results. The officials of MMDA themselves are not certain that these projects being implemented or that will be implemented will mend the holes in both transportation and waste management. Traffic congestions and traffic discipline are the two foremost reasons of traffic problems in Metro Manila. As a proposal to solve the problem in Transportation and Traffic Management, the researchers recommend that: • The Widening of Roads.
