Essay On True Love

True love is hard to come by and keep, or at least what the world would consider to be true love. As an article by Let’s Please God states, “The world says love is about how someone makes you feel or how they feel about someone else, but God says love is about how you behave and treat others” (“What is true love…”). To be able to behave and treat others in love, we first have to know the love of God and to know His love we have to Know Him. When someone is outside of knowing God they are outside of knowing what true love is. Until someone is in the word of God and is coming to know Him, they are blinded, all they know is the love in which the world believes is true. 1 John 4:7 says “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God” (The Holy Bible). The true love of God is something that can only be found in fully knowing God Himself. Knowing God means knowing His love: His perfect, divine, and evident love, as pictured in 1 John. As we learn of God, we learn of His love and His love becomes known to us that we may love God and man like God loves us.

God’s love is mature, it is willing to die for those He loves, it is confident, and it has concern for others (Allen 122-161). God’s love is so unexplainably perfect that when you are in His love there is no possibility not to begin to love God and to love others, or do all that you can- even to the point of death- to care for those you
