Underwater welding is usually done for materials that are primarily used and mainly created to withstand aquatic contact. ACETYLENE SHOULD NEVER BE USED UNDERWATER IF PSI EXCEEDS 15
Acetylene is very unstable underwater at a pressure of 15 pounds per square inch (PSI). Using acetylene at this pressure level could greatly cause to explosion.
