Introduction:
Urinary tract infection (UTI) is an infection in any part of your urinary tract - your kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra. Most cases of infection involving the lower urinary tract - the bladder and urethra.
Women at greater risk of developing urinary tract infection than men. Infection confined to the bladder can be painful and annoying. However, it could have serious consequences occur if spread inflammation of the urinary tract and kidneys.
In my report I will talk about:

According to Mayo Clinic, a urinary tract infection generally develops when bacteria enter the urinary tract and begin multiplying. The most common urinary tract infections

Although the urinary system is designed to keep such microscopic invaders, the defenses sometimes fail. When this happens, the bacteria may take root and grow into a complete infection of the urinary tract.
Infection and the most common urinary tract infections mainly occur in women and affect the bladder and urethra.
Inflammation of the bladder (cystitis). This type of urinary tract infection usually caused by Escherichia coli (E. coli), a type of bacteria normally found in the (GI) gastrointestinal tract. However, sometimes other bacteria responsible. Sexual intercourse may lead to inflammation of the bladder, but you do not have to be sexually active to develop it. All women are at risk of cystitis because of their anatomy - specifically, after a short distance from the anus to the urethra and the opening of the urethra to the bladder.
Inflammation of the urethra (urethritis). This type of urinary tract infection occurs when the GI bacteria spread from the anus to the urethra. Also, because the female urethra is close to the vagina, and sexually transmitted diseases, such as herpes, gonorrhea, chlamydia and mycoplasma, it can cause inflammation of the

Also need to know what urinary tract infection means, causes of them, symptoms, risk factor of that infections and how preventing our self.
In general, urinary tract infection (UTI) is an infection of any part of the urinary system. Most infections involve the lower urinary tract. Urinary tract infections are the second most common type of infection in the body and accounts for about 8.1 million visits to health care providers each year. Most urinary tract infection is not dangerous, but some can lead to serious problems, especially with upper urinary tract infections. Repeated or prolonged (chronic) kidney infections can cause permanent damage, and some sudden kidney infections (acute) can be life threatening, particularly if sepsis occurs.
Recommendations:
• My recommendation in this condition , first advice myself and our friends to be known about that infection and how can prevent from it. From reading and collection information .
• The doctor recommendations, he give medication and advice to drink more water, juice and avoided risk factor led to that infection.
• In community, others can shares this information and be knowledge how can preventing urinary tract
Because of the shorter length of the urethra, women are more susceptible to UTIs. Most infections are mild without complications (Huether, 2012, p. 747). UTIs are either in the lower or upper urinary tract. The lower tract consists of the bladder, whereas the upper tract is the ureter, renal pelvis, and interstitium. Acute cystitis is bladder inflammation and is the usual site of UTIs.
This is often caused by antibiotic use. RISK FACTORS This condition is more likely to develop in: • People who take antibiotics. • Older people. • People who have had a C. diff infection before.
If a diagnosis is not obtainable, urinalysis and urine culture should be considered. C-reactive protein levels or erythrocyte sedimentation rate are also tests that can be used to differentiate from torsion (Uphold & Graham, 2013). Intravenous pyelography can be used to detect bladder obstruction in older men. When the patient has sexually transmitted infection (STI), a gram-stained smear of urethral exudate or intraurethral swab specimen tests should be
Bacteria, fungi, viruses and parasites cause meningitis and encephalitis. Although, meningitis can be caused by any of those four infectious causes, it is most often caused by a bacterial or viral infection. Pneumococcal meningitis is the most common form of meningitis and is a bacterial infection. The disease is caused by the bacteria called Streptococcus Pneumoniae. It can also lead to pneumonia, sinus infections and blood poisoning.
The Home Health Aide and the Overactive Bladder According to Mayo Clinic, an overactive bladder is just that: a bladder-storage problem resulting in sudden and frequent urges to urinate. Often these "urges" may be so strong that they cannot be stopped leading to incontinence. The amount of urine released may be a small trickle, or it may be a complete emptying of the bladder. The National Library of Medicine notes that the number of seniors with an overactive bladder continues to grow.
Chlamydia is a Sexually Transmitted disease (STD) that can infect both men and women and in which is found more commonly in women then in men. Chlamydia is a bacterial disease that is spread by having unprotected vaginal, anal, or oral sex and this disease can cause serious, permanent damage to a women’s reproductive system. Men rarely have health problems when they are infected. The disease can also spread to the eyes as well and into the mouth, this happens from oral sex. New Mexico department of health, chlamydia is ranked 4th in the nation in 2013 and also has a high percentage of 62% between the ages of 15-24.
• What is Chlamydia (NGU)? Chlamydia ( misspelled as clamidia, chlamidia, clamydia, clymidia, chlymidia, clamidia, chlamidia, etc.) is a common curable bacterial sexually transmitted disease (STD). Chlamydia trachomatis, or simply chlamydia, is an infection caused by pathogen bacterium that can afflict the cervix in women and the urethra and rectum in both man and women. Occasionally other parts of the body (lining of the eyelid, throat and rectum) can be affected.
Department of Health and Human Services established an objective for Healthy People 2020 to prevent HCAIs, this reflects that the U.S. health care system is committed to and serious about solving this issue. These objectives address two extremely important topics, central line-associated bloodstream infections, and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infections. Also, there are other major causes of HCAIs that Health and Human Services is working on their prevention such as urinary tract infections (UTIs) associated with catheters, infections of surgical wounds and sites, C. difficile infections, and ventilator-associated Pneumonia. Researches done on HCAIs shown that we can prevent many of these infections by implementing effective strategies to eradicate it, adapting some advanced prevention tools, and following new prevention approaches. There should be a more focus on HCAIs prevention in acute care settings.
The primary prevention is the best way to eliminate the potential for exposure. Since hand washing is the most effective mean of spread of infection, it would be my primary goal to increase the compliance of hand hygiene among healthcare workers, but also an extensive education of patients and family members on hand washing before and after touching the patient as well as afar any contact with any potentially contaminated materials (surface, body fluids or respiratory secretions). Mandatory education of patients, visitors and healthcare workers, across the system as well as cross department compliance practices are single best mean of preventing the spread of infection. For example, every patient and family member can be educated about hand hygiene, use of PPE-personal protective equipment (face mask, gowns and gloves). Although, the practices are already being utilized, I believe the compliance is poorly monitored.
they may attack almost any living organism. Viruses will invade a cell in the body and uses part of the cell to multiple causing new viruses to produce. Bacteria are much larger than viruses. they live everywhere. many bacteria will not cause an infection.
Kidney stones have been found throughout history. Scientists found evidence of kidney stones in a 7,000-year-old Egyptian mummy. Kidney stones can also be called renal stones, renal calculi, or by the medical names nephrolithiasis and urolithiasis. Kidney stones (calculi) are solid or semi-solid mineral-like substances occurring in the urinary tract. The urinary tract consists of the kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra.
To begin, sanitation at the start of the nineteenth century was very bad. The industrial revolution caused an increase in population in England (Lawrence). In fact, between the beginning of the 1800’s and the start of the 1900’s, the population increased by over 5 million people (Ross). The urbanization caused by newcomers overwhelming London in search of new jobs and opportunities came before any expansion of London, forcing people to live in overcrowded slums (Salas). This environment was the perfect breeding ground for bacteria, while the close proximity of people allowed for the spread of diseases to occur more rapidly.
Can an increased hand washing practices by health care provides reduce the rate of catheter associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI)? 3. Between hand washing and the use of alcohol which is a more potent way to prevent hospital acquired infections. 4. Which is better?
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of the teaching initiative, undergrad nursing students will be able to: 1. Identify two indications and two contraindications for Foley catheter insertion. 2. Discuss catheter-associated urinary tract infection & apply evidence-based principles for inserting and removal of a catheter. 3.
Vaginal health and bladder control. Your vagina may get drier. This could make sexual intercourse uncomfortable. Or, you could have other health problems, such as vaginal or bladder infections. Some women also find it hard to hold their urine long enough to get to the bathroom.
