Water pollution develops when water is defiled by different factors. Industrial and agricultural wastes are the most common factors. These factors cause imbalance in the water leading to death of some species. Water pollution in China is such an issue, to the point that the World Bank cautioned of “catastrophic consequences for the future generation. "(Facts and Details).
Atmospheric pollution is caused by pollutants such as smoke from factories entering the atmosphere and being carried to waterways. Industrial waste can also create polluted runoff that collects in rivers and lakes. Another reason for water pollution is chemically treated sewage. This water carries harmful chemicals and high amounts of bacteria, which can potentially lead to serious diseases. Runoff from fields can contain chemical fertilizers and pesticides which can pollute
With more factories, farms and a higher population, it is certain there will be an increased amount of water pollution. Over time, water quality has deteriorated (thediplomat.com, 2013). In the Huai river basin, “the water pollution began in the 70s but seriously increased after the 1980s” and in 2011, the quality of the water has deteriorated compared to earlier years. As shown in Figure , from 2001 to 2010, the water stress has increased overall due to the increased amount of industries, leading to higher water pollution. Now, several major rivers have changed colour and some parts are too contaminated for human
Intro: Water pollution has caused so many problems to our waterways that no one really knows how to help. Water pollution caused; dead zones, oil spills, garbage floating around, and unsafe drinking water. People disagree about water pollution because, people have found ways to improve and help out the problem that water pollution has caused around the world. Others believe that that water pollution has created situations and are in the process of figuring out solutions. Marine life habitats are getting destroyed, marine life is declining everyday, how and where the garbage is getting into the oceans, and the drinking water is becoming seriously unsafe to drink.
Over 780 million people are without access to clean drinking water, and around 2.5 billion people do not have access to an adequate sanitation facility (Bradford). There are two primary ways in which water pollution is caused. The first way consists of objects such as trash from a landfill or parts of a boat which have fallen into the water. The other cause is due to fertilizers and other chemicals being spilled into the water ("Pollution"). Once enough pollutants fill the water, it becomes likely for it to become contaminated with dangerous pathogens, which survive on the pollutants and can be dangerous to the wildlife.
Millions of people have faced with living-and-death issue due to constant use of contaminated water. Polluted water source causes the deleterious impact on the community. The common consequence is the rising rate of people at higher risk of acute and chronic diseases relating to water pollution such as dermatitis, digestive diseases, diarrhea, and cancer has risen. In several regions, patients diagnosed with cancer, gynecologic infections account for 40-50% of cases, due to polluted water sources. Polluted water and poor sanitation claim the lives of about 9,000 people per year in Vietnam, according to the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Another place where the pollution of water is at the critical point is Sungai Klang where the pollution really affected the community at that place due to the stinky smell that come from the river, the smell that come from the river is caused by the rubbish that block the flow of water. The pollution in Klang also cause the water source not safe for the daily use such as for washing and drinking. Industrial waste come from the industrial, the waste from the industrial such as paper, an example of industry that give impacts to the water is paper industry as it write words, drawing and printing which they used ink. Inside the ink was the ink pigment which the pigment was not soluble in water, by taking example of white ink contain titanium oxide as the pigment. The last factors that contribute to water pollution is the ballast water tank where the ships carried water together with the organism that were placed in the ballast water tank
Sisk 1 Kylie Sisk Eng1101 Burns 10/26/14 Water Pollution The world’s biggest health risk continues to enforce both public health and quality of life; that is what we call dirty water or water pollution. Water pollution is a huge problem these days and human activity is the main effect. People need to start taking action in what they do and start protecting our bodies of water. Some people don’t realize when pollution is being caused because they don’t realize what they do every day, causes it. Driving cars, using fertilizers, not cleaning septic tanks, and coal-fired power plants are some examples on what causes water pollution.
Most dangerous polluted water lies in Huai, Songhua, Liao and Hai as well as most severe scarcity of water problem lies in Ningxia, Tianjin, Beijing, Jiangsu and Shanxi. Both pollution has created severe health problem which lead to premature mortality rate and morbidity. Air pollution has directly affected 157.3 billion yuan or 1.16 % of GDP. There are still no pipe water in rural areas which created diarrhoea and cancers of digestive system, whose worth cost 1.9 % of total GDP of the country. Water and air pollution has damages the material and crop.
In turn, people tested in coastal areas in provinces surrounding Bangkok have shown to have a blood mercury count forty-four percent higher than safety limit. In most cases, this mercury is carried by fish living in the contaminated waters. In all, there are more than four hundred industrial plants found along the banks that contribute to this dumping, and therefore contribute to the poisoning of millions of people. Another contamination to the water has been fertilizer runoff, which has lead to an increase in the nutrient levels of water weeds. The spread of fertilizer has also affected the spread of Algal blooms, which have grown to cover rivers, causing for a decrease in the flow of water, making it more difficult for pollutants to be flushed away.
