Abigail is an obsessive girl who can't get over a man that is married. I do however put blame on John proctor because he did cheat on his wife with her, but he made it completely clear that it was over and he was done with her. Abigail is to blame for all deaths because it all started with her first actions in the woods. She got caught by reverend Paris and didn't want to be in trouble so she accused others for witchcraft to save her own life. She did the most disrespectful and most ungrateful thing to these people, she accused at least 17 innocent people. this is why i believe Abigail is to blame for all of the deaths and hangings in Salem.
I will have to say it is also the courts fault for not thinking it was just Abigail and her lies. It's sad to believe that the court believed her lies and her acts. It was extremely uncalled for when she blamed Tituba for the starting of the witchcraft and her lying about Tituba touching her. If Abigail just told the truth then no one would’ve died and the story of Salem wouldn't have ever happened. She commanded the other girls to lie and follow behind her or else she would kill them, she did all of this just to protect her little self and it is so selfish. She and her friends pretended to faint and act as if they passed out when a old man said he was innocent, it's just bad that the court believed all of it was true.

Abigail is just that psychotic girl who can't get over the man who she wants. It was all of her fault that the girls went to the woods because she set the whole thing up. Every time she got alone with john proctor, she tried to do sexual stuff with him and showed him that she wants it all. John proctor is right about calling her a whore because of those
Her lies play a part in starting the witch trials. To save herself she would throw any of the other girls or towns folk to blame. “ I want the light of God”, “I saw Sarah Good, Goody Osburn, and Bridget Bishop with the devil”. Watching Abigail's actions we see how much she is willing to bend the truth and even manipulate others to keep herself away from blame/harm. Yet even with all the lies and manipulation from Abigail there is an instance
In the play, The Crucible” , many people were hanged for being accused of witchcraft, and I believe it is all due to Abigail. For many various reasons, one being that since the very beginning of the book we read that she drank blood to kill Elizabeth Proctor, and she was always refusing to tell the truth. She had even threatened all the girls, and Betty to not expose her or they will never see the sun rise, meaning she would actually consider killing them. We also found out that Abigail had some kind of affair with John Proctor. Which is probably why she wanted to kill Elizabeth Proctor, but her affair was most likely the outcome of her drinking the blood, and accusing others of being involved in witchcraft.
She blamed one girl that danced with her named Elizabeth saying she was a witch. Abigail put so many people through suffer and pain by blaming them. She has had a bad reputation and that is what she is known for. She is known for the many things she has done in the past. Furthermore, Abigail also had an affair with John Proctor.
Abigail Williams is responsible for the Salem Witch trials. Abigail is to blame because she speaks lies. Although some may believe that Mary Warren, friend of abby’s is to blame. Those who think that could argue that she didn't tell the truth on counts of opportunities. Mary always thought telling the truth was the right idea, but never did.
In the play The Crucible theres is witchcraft going on in salem but the people don't want other towns to know about it. Also in the play mostly everyone is a christian and attends church on sunday. Does Abigail deserve to be at fault for everything that happened. I think she does because if it wasn't for her none of this would have happened. Also Abigail and Tituba are the ones to blame because they are the ones that make the other girls go dance in the woods.
I wouldn’t say any of this would be the Proctor’s fault either. Although they were most likely Abigail’s motive, it was all her. They didn’t tell her to do it, she just does it being the chaotic teen she is. “A wild thing may say wild things.” She knew that in the end, she would be viewed as no good, but she did it anyway.
She was the reason why witchcraft broke out in Salem. As stated in the first paragraph, she tells the court who has committed witchcraft so she will not get in trouble. Why does the court believe her? The court believes her because she was the first one to say she “saw the devil”, and if she can see the devil, then she can see who is with him. In the beginning, Abigail blamed people who were not really influential in the community.
She could have just taken the punishment, but she blamed everyone else in the town of being a witch. Saying their spirit made her and the other girls go out into the woods to dance and drink from the pot. On the other hand Abigail could be considered innocent because growing up she did not have any good role models. Her uncle, Reverend Parris, was more worried about the church and what the people of the town thought of him that he did not care for his family.
The Salem Witch Trials were a series of hearings and prosecutions of people accused of witchcraft in Massachusetts between February 1692 and May 1693. It was such a massive, bizzare occurance that logically, something or someone should be blamed for the start of it. Although it is one of America’s most showing cases of mass hysteria, there had to have been many other causes for the tragic ending. Salem’s tragic ending in The Crucible was clearly caused by an abundance of factors, but the two most weighty were Abigail Williams and the idea of reputation in Salem. Abigail Williams is very much to blame for the tragic ending in Salem for many reasons.
Seeing this as an opportunity to gain the man she loves, John Proctor, she then accuses his wife of being a witch. Abigail lies throughout the entire story, and at the end, she runs away. This shows how Abigail is a deceiver and is
Abigail believed that Proctor actually loved her and she waited every night for him. She was brainwashed to think he would leave his wife for her. The witchcraft accusation came from the beginning of the story when Abigail and the girls were dancing naked in the woods and chanting. She made false accusations that people in the village were worshipping the devil to cover what she had done. Many lives were taken but Abigail had no empathy for anyone who was hanged.
She caused proctor to cheat on his wife and then eventually causes Proctor to die. And she and other girls had to go to court because they lied about doing the witchcraft. She cannot excuse or pardoned because the outside forces “made” her the way she is because the forces are not going to change her. If Abigail wouldn’t of danced in the woods then she wouldn’t of caused the bad things to happen.
In Salem, Massachusetts a series of hearings and prosecutions started, commonly known as the Salem Witchcraft Trials. The witchcraft trials in Salem became a big concern after two-hundred innocent people were accused and twenty people were executed. Many people of Salem believed the court was just in accusing all these victims. A seldom amount of people went against the court in saying that the court was a fraud and that the decisions were biased being made. Abigail Williams held all the power in the court and determined who was “guilty” or not.
During the Salem Witch Trials a lot of people were accused of using witchcraft. As a result many people died for other people’s lies, rumors, and selfishness. There is one person that really caused and is most to blame for all the chaos, her name is Abigail. Abigail is to blame for all that has happened in the Witch Trials, the reason for that is because of all the accusing and lying she has done. In addition, it all leads up to her for instance, she used a doll to accuse people of witchcraft.
Abigail and the society itself are to blame for the events in Salem causing murder and outrage in this town. Abigail is the character mainly to blame for the outrage in Salem. She is a liar, double faced hypocrite that will stop at nothing to get herself out of the mess that she created. Making her one of the main killers of these innocent puritan people.
