Youth football is a sport that is played in various places, many people think that it is not dangerous and kids should be able to play, while others think that this sport is too dangerous and should not be played. Based off of all the evidence that I have found through research, it has let me to agreeing with the fact that youth football is too dangerous for young children to be playing. This sport has pros to it, some of which are very good, but the con side outways it with extraordinary pieces of evidence, these are the things showing that this sport is not to be played at this age and overall. There are a few pieces of evidence and facts that show proof of why it is dangerous and why this can’t be stopped. Some of the reasons are very serious, such as CTE which is a brain disease caused by rapid hits to the brain, this has lifetime affects and changes you in many ways, in worst cases this can even cause death. Although that is one of the worst things that can happen there is still many others like concussions which last long, Alzheimer’s disease, also minor characteristics like depression and headaches all linking to lifetime affects. This is because they have the pads on and think nothing will happen, but at home and school it makes them more violent, there have been about 3.5 million injuries in youth football in the past years. Of course other sports have many injuries as well, but many of the football injuries happen because of rapid hits to the head which other sports are not like that at all almost. Although death is very rare in sports, almost all of them happen from the exact thing that football does to you, brain injuries. You never know how your kid will react to these
Youth Tackle Football Why the interest in youth football lately? Youth football has been getting a bad rep lately because of concerned parents. Parents of football players are concerned for their child’s safety while playing tackle football. Plenty of cities and towns are banning youth football, because of concussions.

Have you ever played tackle football? If so you should know that playing at a young age can cause damage to brain as you get older and older. Kids that started before the age of twelve have been proven to have a damaged brain as they get older. Kids of such young age should be able to play football but maybe flag football is better to start with. For parents to keep their children safe they should not let their kids play tackle football until they are twelve.
I’m a big football fan, but I have to tell you if I had a son, I’d have think long and hard before I let him play football,” says President Obama (Fox News). The debate of whether or not football should be banned started with this speech given by President Obama. Recently, studies have shown that a large number of hits may cause more brain damage than a handful of concussions. Although people think banning football will decrease the amount of teen deaths and concussions; football should not be banned because it is just as dangerous as any other high school sports, many people would lose their job if it was banned, and football and sports help keep kids off the street. Football should not be banned because it is just as dangerous as any other

There are many sports that are too dangerous for children because they aren't fully developed yet and they have a high chance of being severely injured. More than 448,000 football-related injuries to youths under 15 are annually treated in hospitals, doctors' offices, clinics, ambulatory surgery centers and emergency rooms, according to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons One reason football is too dangerous for children to play is because of chronic traumatic encephalopathy, otherwise known as CTE. It is a deadly brain disease that can develop from the repetitive hits and tackles young football players experience. Many parents start their children out at a very young age. However, because younger football players' brains and bodies are not fully developed, they are more vulnerable to injuries, mainly to their brains.
“With high school just around the corner, a new study is raising awareness of the risks associated with playing the game,” said the article High School, College Football Comes With Risk by Jeffrey Perkel. In the article by Jeffrey Perkel it states, “Researchers found that college football players get injured more often than their high school counterparts but high school athletes are more likely to end up injured.” Youth sports are harmful because they, make the kids so they are most likely to end up in the emergency room, they do not get enough sleep, and the college students get injured easier. Youth sports are helpful because, they help with educational purposes, they have positive effects on adolescents, and they helps associate kids with participation and sportsmanship. However, with all the information I have gathered they say things like, “But better coaching may help.”
Football teaches kids that if you don 't want to get hurt learn to be tough or be fast and avoid tacklers, most likely kids don 't like being know as the kid who can 't play I think kids years 5-7 years old should be able to play football. Kids who start tackling a younger are scientifically proven to tackle harder safer and are less likely to do something that could hurt themselves or other kids
After hours of attempted treatments, the boy sadly dies. To prevent this common scenario from happening, tackling in youth football should be banned until kids reach early teenage years because it can cause detrimental head injuries, and many other future and emotional effects. Being less developed creates a higher risk for injury. The younger kids are, the less developed they are (Smith). Their heads and necks are weaker so when they are hit, it causes them to have more severe injuries (Smith).
Health and contact sports are something parents worry about as over 500 deaths in the past 3 years from contact sports alone are making parents stand out against these sports and if the government doesn 't do anything about it the number of 7% overall contact sports drop will just keep getting lower and lower each time. Dr. William Speight also had this to say “Many other kids have suffered paralyzing spinal injuries”(Pennington). Kids being paralyzed is the fear for many athletes these days and the number f kids getting paralyzed has increases 2% which is equivalent to about 8,000 kids each year which is crazy to think about kids can 't play sports for the rest of thrie and maybe not be able to live their life because of it so next you hear mom or dad i wanna play sports your answer should be a simple NO. Kids under 10 need to stop playing contact sports because 45% of kids under 10 getting hurt are from contact sports and 5% of the time its ending that kids chances to play sports in the feature, Not to mention contact sports can also make kids go to their fullest and being burned out and although contact provide some kids will useful tools in life most of the time there is more negative than positive. “The impact damages the brain. It interferes with the way the brain functions, causing problems like headaches and memory loss.” Kids football has been a controversial issue because kids can damage their brain when playing football. Why Your Children Should Not Play Football Yet. “Diagnosed concussions rose by nearly 32 percent in the NFL in the 2016 season” (Seifert). The concussions in the NFL are very high. If this sport is this dangerous at the level for grown men then it must be dangerous for children to play. If men can get hurt playing the game of football then a child certainly can get hurt playing this game as well.
2.6 million sports related emergency room visits a year; 25,376 children under 19 sent to the emergency room for traumatic brain injury each year (Merkel). Contact sports, a sport in which the participants necessarily come into bodily contact with one another, like football have become more popular among children and they have started to play the sport at earlier ages as well. Although physical activity is beneficial in many ways, contact sports creates many health risks: concussions, chronic traumatic encephalopathy, brain damage, broken bones, and broken growth plates. Because of all of these risks, contact sports should be banned for people under 18. To begin, contact sports should be banned for children under 18 because of the risk of
According to a research report from Loehrke, a young athlete suffers a sports related injury that is severe enough to go to the emergency room approximately every 25 seconds, or 1.35 million times a year. The most prominent of these injuries were concussions, which accounted for 163,670, or 12 percent of the total 1.35 million injuries (Loehrke). Dr. Alexander K. Powers, a pediatric neurosurgeon at Wake Forest Baptist Health in North Carolina, found that most children who suffer concussions recover, but the prognosis for children who suffer recurring concussions is unknown. Recurring concussions could lead to several disabilities later in life, such as dementia, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer 's disease, epilepsy, and many other neurological disorders that would require a substantial amount of surgery to cure, if they could even be cured at all (Powers). Putting a child at risk to suffer injuries, such as the ones listed above, is one of the main reasons why the amount of children participating in competitive sports has been dropping
